Our Yakitori area, serves a ’la carte with a delightful blend of Australian boutique chooks, freshest seafood and organic wild fungi on the binchotan charcoal paired with hearty Japanese dishes with a modern flair. Our Niku Kappo Omakase seats 10 Omakase (degustation) serves in perfect harmony the finest Wagyu in the world famous Josper grill & our classical Japanese cuisines. The Josper oven; which uses Binchotan (Japanese top quality Charcoal) with high temperatures to bring out its Umami flavour. That will be sure to entertain and stimulate your appetite. We are proud to be the only Japanese restaurant in Victoria certified to serve the famous Kobe Wagyu beef and delighted to be able to share our passion with the Australian public.

We came here for a friends birthday (party of 4 girls) and the food was outstanding. Highlights were the unagi tempura, the oysters and unagi temaki. The only downside, which bought down the mood, was our waitress. She said several times that we did not order enough as each dish we would only get 1 or 2 bites. We said it was heaps and she even recommended we order 2 serves of the silver cod, which was way too much. It felt like she pushed us to order more as none of us drank alcohol. For over $750, it’s a bit on the pricey end, but the food definitely was amazing.

My husband surprised me with dinner out and it didn’t disappoint. The service was brilliant, the food spectacular! The only downside was that everything looked so good on the menu that our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, so we physically couldn’t do dessert! Diverse selection of food ranging from sashimi, entrees, mains and skewers. The highlight of the night had to be their Sydney Rock Oysters with Yuzu sauce. I’ve never had anything like that before! Skewers were flavourful and the sashimi was fresh. Loved sitting in front of the yakitori counter to see the chefs preparing the food. Amazing cocktails too. Highly recommended!! There is a wide variety on the menu from sashimi, ramen and tempura. However we came here to try the chicken skewers which did not disappoint. The only thing is you’re paying premium prices for small portions of food. Then again, the cheap eats of Melbourne are getting more rare these days.

Food was pretty average for the steep prices. Tried the chef’s selection of skewers and the vegetable tempera. The Coconut Yuzu Highball mocktail was the highlight – extremely refreshing which had lychees in it.
