An enjoyable taste menu. These guys have their wings in good food. I thought I couldn’t have another bite after the steak but sure enough, had the dessert too. They have studied the science of food and it shows in their food.

Great atmosphere in this hidden gem in the city. Spanner crab spaghetti was a highlight along with salmon. Finished with a very interesting take on deconstructed tiramisu. Great attentive service along with large wine selection

Easy to miss if you’re not looking for it, but one you’ll regret not visiting if you’re in town. We went for the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairing and were blown away with every single dish. The balance of flavours were spot on, with the “transition” between courses, impeccable. From the fish to the veal, pasta to the pork, we struggled to choose a favourite. The wine was absolutely mouth-watering too. A special shout-out for the dairy-free version of the menu provided to one of us that was just as delicious as the regular version — not a watered down substitute.

The food is simply divine! Strongly recommended. My fave is the entree dish, looks ordinary but it’s a bomb in your mouth in terms of texture and flavour. As my friend puts it it would be dangerous if they offered takeaway for these lol

overall a decent experience at Emilia. I loved the ambience, interior and layout of the restaurant – very italian trattoria style. love an open kitchen and tables were set up quite nicely. however we did find service by some staff to be a little unaccommodating. while some staff were extremely friendly others seemed to not even see us, being looked over as we walked in, placing plates carelessly on the table and appearing lost when asking to split the bill. but as mentioned this was not by all and didn’t remove much from the experience. the menu is extensive, however on the pricier side I believe for the quality of food. portions are good but a number of plates were served cold, including the lamb rack and fries ( ), though the food was still tasty and enjoyable. appreciated the complimentary bread! the real highlight was dessert – the tiramisu is like non other I’ve tried in Melbourne, with its own deconstructed spin and inclusion of a nutty, salty praline, that paired exceptionally well with the refreshing sorbet. overall, a decent experience, maybe we just got bad luck on the night. it’s beautifully located and decorated and worth a visit. thanks Emilia.

Wonderful traditional Italian restaurant in the cbd. I recommend you make a reservation even early as I sensed the fact I didn’t have one wasn’t appreciated. The food is delicious full of flavour. The complimentary fresh crusty bread and olive oil was wonderful. I recommend the tortelloni. The tiramisu was not the kind I’m used to but absolutely delicious. It’s the wonderful warm, welcoming and charming wait staff who really make this restaurant shine. Try it you won’t regret it .

First off the ravioli I had was incredible, the flavours were sublime. The Tiramisu was different to how I like it, more a deconstructed idea with a cream that seemed far too rich and overwhelming, making it underwhelming overall, however others might like that. The loss of a star was due to the service, it felt like the waiter thought a lot of himself and when asked by me what pasta people usually like to order / what’s the restaurant known for he said everything, and was unwilling to elaborate / help me with suggestions. I’ve been a waiter myself, it costs nothing to be friendly.
