My recent dining experience at a local Japanese restaurant, Tobikiri, was truly exceptional. The impeccable service and delicious food earned this establishment a perfect 5/5 rating in my book. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the cuisine, providing detailed explanations of the dishes and offering personalized recommendations. The menu featured a wide array of traditional Japanese dishes, each meticulously crafted and bursting with authentic flavours. The sashimi, in particular, was a standout, with high-quality ingredients and freshness. The presentation of the dishes was remarkable, and the restaurant also had an extensive selection of sake and Japanese beverages to complement the meal. Overall, Tobikiri is a hidden gem in the community, delivering an unforgettable dining experience for both seasoned enthusiasts of Japanese cuisine and newcomers alike.

Service was good but food was a bit average. The sashimi salmon was chewy and the tuna tasted a bit funky and was floury, my partner and I each tried a slice and left the other 3. I found a bone in the Plenty of salmon raw roll thingy which took the fun out of eating. The miso was great and the agedashi tofu was ok. It was cheap but we didn’t really eat a lot. All in all was ok but we probably won’t go back. There are better albeit more expensive places in the area

What a cute place to discover! Lovely, creative, visually excellent dishes! But, as is often the case with Japanese cuisine, not a lot of vegetable options aside from salads, such as this fun deep fried wonton skin and iceberg salad. Overall tasty and enjoyable.

First experience at Tobikiri was delightful. The menu is authentic Japanese with the typical selections. Quality and value is second to none in Sydney. It can be crowded but this is easily excused given how good every dish is.

Tasty Japanese food. This is a tiny restaurant in one of the back streets of Neutral Bay. Extensive menu with a great range of sushi, sashimi, bento boxes, etc. All the food was fresh, well prepared and tasty. The salmon belly was particularly good. The service was ok.

I recently dined at Tobikiri, a Japanese restaurant, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend it to others. Although the service was polite and prompt, the food quality was subpar. Out of the six dishes that we ordered, the only standout was the chicken dish.
