Hard to find a cafe with breakfast in Bendigo, and finally found this one, the food and coffee is good. Don’t like their floor service, no enthusiasm at all. And big no for me got served with take away coffee while dining in. The setting inside is bit outdated as well. Otherwise everything is good.

As a tourist I was trying to find somewhere to eat for breakfast, this place had really positive reviews, so I decided on The Subtle Eye. I came with my family, and the food was delicious. We came for breakfast and we ordered hot chocolates, which were so good, and we ordered a few of The Big Breakfast meals and a Smashed Avo on toast meal, and it was delicious. The portions were decent too, we were full at the end of our meal. Definitely recommend to have breakfast here!!! If I’m ever in Bendigo again, I will have breakfast here again. 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food was outstanding. My big breakfast had perfectly cooked poached eggs. The chorizo and bacon were obviously butcher products not supermarket. Fantastic taste. Service was spot on. My coffee was perfect and the waffles also brilliant. Outdoor seating really made the venue and it makes me sad the local council wants to return this to street traffic. The outdoor seating and this closed off street are such an asset to Bendigo.

Great 9-Bean black coffee & an excellent lunch. Very smooth ambience with great tables for writing or laptops & comfortable chairs. Efficient no-fuss customer service with a friendly smile. Outdoor seating for the right weather conditions. On the list!

We were just in town briefly and stoped in for their Friday Night pasta night! Lucky to get a seat – It was fresh and such a treat. Burnt buttery pumpkin almond ravioli- and my partner got the seafood marinara – Thank you for making our stay a memorable one.

Barista did not accept my reusable cup as it was not clean (small amount of coffee leftover). As a former barista, I know it’s so damn easy to give a cup a quick rinse. We need to be encouraging ppl to bring their own not dissuading them. Really disappointing.

The subtle eye really does take notice of the small things. The coffee is amazing and the staff are very friendly and helpful. My breakfast was divine, eggs Benedict with perfectly poached eggs. I was excited to see it was traditional and with an English muffin. It was also presented beautifully. Only criticism was the muffin was cold. But the rest was so darn good it really didn’t matter. Thanks again.
