So disappointing. We have been getting our fish and chips take away from Star for over 20 years. Always a go to for a good, ample, reasonably priced, yummy take away. Recently the quality of food has dropped right off. Steak burger meat as thin/small as it is possible to cut it. Fish unidentifiable. Used to be the best chips in town. Last couple of times, even the dogs wouldn’t eat them. I wonder what has happened? Sadly, no longer recommend.

We bought the No 4 pack for around $30. As you can see from my pictures, it was an abysmal offering. The calamari was rubbery. The unidentifiable fish, was razor thin. The potato scallop was all batter and little potato. (The food seemed to all be the same colour). The only edible component was the chips, which has a very unnatural hue. This shop used to offer a very good meal. We certainly won’t be going back.

I generally resist leaving bad reviews but I couldn’t hold back this time. 1st time trying out the Star Seafood and Burger and boy was I disappointed. Firstly I walked in and said I was picking up my order. The owner rudely said “WAIT!” to me and proceeded to chat to one of her staff. I was taken back by that. Anyhow I paid for my order and headed home. Opened up my steak burger and what I found was the measliest piece of “steak” I’ve ever seen on a steak burger, not even kidding!( as per the pics)

The one in western suburb which shared the identical name used to be my favorite fish and chips in Brisbane. Since the other shop closed, I thought I would give this place a go. I have nothing else to say other than it is disappointing. The fish were frozen Basa fillet microwaved to defrost, tasted rubbery and muddy. The batter and chips were oily and soggy. I am really not sure how they get the high reviews over the years. The only good thing is price.
