We dined here this weekend and it was absolutely sensational. I really could not fault a single aspect of our experience. They have just had a new chef take over. The food is incredible – so much flavour and the portions are very generous (much more than you’d usually get at a fine dining restaurant). The service delivered by the staff is truly 5 stars. We had such a fabulous experience and will definitely be back in future.

I like this place. The food tasted amazing. We has oysters, scallops and some seafood. It is not a big restaurant with limited seating capacity, so you need to book ahead. It is very cosy and comfortable for fine dining. The staff know their wines really well. If you want to know the matching wine for your dinner, just ask the staff. The food is delicious and well presented. It has the romantic feeling in the restaurant, so a nice place for dinner dates.

Just celebrated my birthday here last night, service was amazing they surprised me with a free plate of macaron and chocolate by the end of the meal. but we already ordered and finished our desserts. which i highly recommend, for the night the cookie and cream creme burlee was my favourite, and we also ordered the chocolate pudding (comes with the real vanilla ice cream). and a not so sweet mango cheesecake. love all the desserts there.

We stay at the Sofitel Brisbane regularly and had never been overly impressed with Prive 249. I noticed the restaurant was receiving better reviews so thought we would go on our recent visit. Glad we did. I don’t know if there has been a change in management or chef but the quality of food in Prive is now perfectly aligned to it fine dining classification. We ordered some French breadsticks with truffle butter $10. This was the only element of the meal you wouldn’t score 5 out of 5, truffle butter wasn’t very truffle flavoured and the bread was…. yes bread. We had the scallops and the King Prawns for entree, $32 each, both were beautifully cooked, flavoured and seasoned.

No star deserve, totally misleading of French-Australian food. Supposedly sophisticated in elegant ambience. Worst than a real pub food to serve less than 100 population. The steak is hard to chew, scallops sizes embarrassingly served in size less than my pearl earrings. Never to return, certainly was not cooked by French chef. Very sorry to go
