I can’t recommend this place highly enough!!! Set up a tree line path, back from the main street, this restaurant is in its own little oasis. There are people seated around you, yet it feels so private – you couple be the only people there! The staff are very friendly and attentive. Each course came out perfectly timed and was delicious!! The prawns were the best I’ve ever eaten!! If you want a special, memorable meal in Port Douglas, you should definitely come here!!

Nautilus restaurant is in a beautiful tropical forest setting with multi level outdoor dining right in Port Douglas. It’s a great experience dining under the palms with lovely decor and mood lighting, but beware the mosquitoes!

We had a brilliant experience dining at Nautilus; the food, service and vibes were immaculate. Lily our waiter was so knowledge and kind, and recommended a brilliant wine to pair with our classic degustation. Would absolutely recommend booking in if you plan on visiting Port Douglas.

Seated in the rainforest away from the noise on the street, you are greeted by highly professional hosts. As a degustation menu, this dining experience is thought out with expert knowledge, care, passion & precision, teaming every flavour together perfectly. The staff introduce each course with keen & specialist knowledge. Our host Sergio was elegant & aligned with the fine dining experience. Perfect for romantic dinners or if you’re just after that extra special 5-star exquisite dining experience. Thank you for a beautiful last night in Port Douglas!

Last night we experienced the most magnificent meal that Port Douglas, Nautilus is renowned for widely in food circles. This long anticipated event did not disappoint from the moment we walked up the rainforest entrance to where we sat in an outside dining room. The food was exquisite, the descriptions and wine accompanying each course complimented perfectly. The staff were attentive and made us feel valued under the canopy of trees and beautiful night lights.

Set amidst a welcoming rainforest atmosphere, Nautilus offers attentive service, but the heavily Thai inspired pescatarian course was a mixed bag. The sushi-style kingfish stood out, but the bed of rice beneath it was unfortunately overcooked and lacked the desired texture. The Morton Bay bugs and prawns, although cooked well, struggled to shine under a dominant green curry sauce. The scallops, tasty in their own right, could’ve used a touch more seasoning. Our choice to go for the Coral trout was an absolute letdown. Overcooked and bland, it paired poorly with the caramel sauce and came with a salad that you’d find at Coles. It’s preparation was noticeably clumsy with the waiter using a dinner knife and fork, leaving pieces of fish scattered across the table. On a brighter note, the desserts were pleasant. The key lime pie was tasty, albeit a bit runny, and the chocolate marquise was decent. Overall, a hit-and-miss experience.
