Still great – confirmed. We saw some recent reviews warning customers away – looks like there was some staff turnover and settling in period maybe? In any event, I went as a group of four last night for dinner (with a booking). We were seated promptly, served soon after, probably the best lemon, lime and bitters I’ve had this year, then we ordered. The front of house staff were great – available when needed, non intrusive when not, polite and willing to learn in to the joke of the moment at the table. The wind picked up and we asked if we could move inside – immediate response, a new table being readied for us, zero issues. The prices are high enough to suggest fine dining, and that is exactly what we got… Every course as good as the last, and not one of the four of us with the slightest quibble. The pate portion was large, the sides came with garnish which enhanced the flavour rather than just decorating the plate, the steaks were perfectly cooked to our different levels of preference … Honestly, we had been apprehensive due to recent reviews of Hi Tide, but in our experience, this place is definitely worth serious consideration of you’d like some upmarket dinner in a private setting with the beach only twenty metres from your plate. Great experience, can absolutely recommend.

Dinner was delightful, entrees and mains were really yummy. The gnocchi was one of the best I’ve ever had. Great service and wine. The signature cocktails we tried were lovely, great flavours and not overly sweet.

We absolutely loved our experience at Hi Tide, we enjoyed every course starting with scallops the linguine was delicious and my husbands steak cooked how he liked it.

Had a fantastic dinner here and also a lovely breakfast. Amazing, uninterrupted views of Four Mile beach. The food and service was superb. All the service staff are great but Ami really stood out for me. Very friendly, kind, efficient and attentive. Thank you Ami and all the staff at Hi Tide. I’ll be back again soon

Not the most welcoming, 24hr braised beef cheeks we tough and very fatty, went untouched. beetle crawled from under the salad garnish on the steak. Staff not around much to get attention. When both issues brought to attention all we got was sorry you didn’t enjoy your meal

First place we came to off 4mile beach thought it looked good so what the hell let’s have breakfast here! We were shown to our table by a lovely waiter who greeted us warmly and was very engaging. We ordered coffees and a meal which came out in good time and egg were cooked well and over all a great little cafe.

We ordered 5 of the tasting plates, the best being the scallops, sourdough bread and octopus. The salmon sashimi was delicious but the curry sauce took away from the salmon and the beef carpaccio lacked a bit of flavour. The mains and desserts were delicious, we had the lamb rump, mushroom pasta and peach crumble for dessert. Overall great food, great service and beautiful restaurant. Definitely a must visit in Port Douglas.

Friendly, kind, attentive service and enjoyable food. Not the most amazing breakfast I’ve had but the views, service and solid food offering gives here a 5/5. Definitely a go to breakfast place no question perhaps one of the best in Port. Will be returning to try other dishes. They were also flexible with menu adjustments. Some photos attached!
