Hahndorf winter was more charming when I enjoyed traditional German food at German Spoon. The last leaves from the old tree in front of the restaurant fell to the ground when the food was brought out with a bright smile.

Delicious food, friendly service and great location. Lots of outdoor seating available which is great on a sunny day to sit outside and enjoy the Hahndorf view. I had the spoony schnitzel. The schnitzel was cooked perfectly. Crispy outside and juicy inside. The mash was delish and I enjoyed the pickles on the side.

The serving was generous and beautifully arranged on a large platter for 2 – perfect for celebrating their Diamond wedding anniversary. My Godparents absolutely enjoyed their dining experience there. We shared the 4 sausage platter and it was amazing flavours. We then shared the apple strudel with cream and strawberry. Loved it. The staff were wonderful and would recommend anyone to go there. Thank you for a great meal. Diane and Jeff from Victoria.

Parked in the side st next the German spoon. Arrived in harndorf at 12 so it was time for lunch. We instantly noticed how ‘german’ it was. We arrive at the right time, sat outside and a man started playing an accordion. Talk about atmosphere! We had the German platter for two. Woweeee! Husband had a beer and I had a cappuccino. Absolutely delicious, can’t wait to return!

We had sausage platter which was big enough to share between 2 people. It had 4 sausages with mashed potatoes and pickled vegetables. Would definitely recommend if you would like to try out all of their sausages. Had a German strudel for dessert and it was absolutely amazing! The sweetness was just right, although would prefer a tad bit more cinnamon would be great for me. There’s live music as well during our visit, pleasant experience overall 🙂

Got the pork neck after seeing quite a few reviews mention it! It was super tender and nicely swirled with some fat. The saltiness of the meat did get a bit much for me when I finished my sides.
