Had a great time at Garrison for dinner. We were seated in a private area since we are a big group. Great food and drinks; and fabulous service. A pretty gem in Albany. The only downside in the private area is the smoke from the wood fire, the room can get really smokey and hard to breath; the side door needs to be opened at all times for ventilation.

We made a booking for a special Sunday lunch for our family. On arrival (at time of our booking) we waited a good 10mins for a group of people who were trying to negotiate their way into the fully booked restaurant without a booking. After they were accommodated we were taken to our table where we waited and waited and waited for our order to be taken. 1 hour later our order taken… I accept and understand that it was busy, the bit that annoyed me the most was that the group that were accommodated received service and food in a timely (and enjoyable for them) manner. If your restaurant is fully booked please accommodate those who went to effort to make a reservation!

The atmosphere was fantastic, We went here on Sunday, a bit busy, have 6-7 tables but only 1 staff took order and serviced. He was good, friendly and working hard. Restaurant should hide more staff to taking care of customers.
