Aug 2023: Beautiful decor and interior. Staff were clearly understaffed/ under trained, even though place only half full, but they were friendly. I sympathize with this given tough time in industry / hiring. Most of the food was good to very good. School prawns, steak tartare and duck breast all very good, Scotch steak was good. The salad was full of grit and sand and was sent back. The manager was really apologetic and tried his best to make it up with free dessert and a good chat about why it happened and their difficulties with staff etc due to current economy. Would have been 3 star but his genuine service and attempt to make it right was appreciated

The venue is tastefully decorated and the location is easy to access, the QVB is an exquisite building so it’s hard to fault it!

Esq has a great atmosphere and the QVB location is very special. We had dinner on a Wednesday night and it was very quiet which suited us perfectly. All of meals were excellent with a great wine and cocktail menu too. Very friendly and attentive service.

Was there for dinner last Friday 23/6/23. The whole place just looked marvellous, the live trio (guitar, cello, and saxophone) added a sweet touch to the atmosphere and especially the food, which was just as amazing. Cocktails were delicious and recommend the tiramisu cocktail, which my girlfriend had about 4 them but do not recommend having that many!

First time visiting ESQ tonight and it certainly won’t be my last. There’s something to be said about listening to a live jazz trio while sipping great wine with good a good friend in a classy but relaxed environment. This is exactly what ESQ delivered – and then some!

Great new Sydney restaurant and bar, which unfortunately started up just before the COVID lockdowns. Incomparable interior (in Sydney’s Queen Victoria Building), excellent food, super-pleasant staff, a floor manager who knows her wines and is keen to discuss them, plus live jazz on Thursday and Friday nights (otherwise you have to settle for an excellent background jazz and blues playlist). This place deserves more attention. Kids love it too.
