Akehurst Bakery was suggested to me to visit instead of the other place just down the road where I would always go when passing through as they have superior pies, I went through Blayne just a little while ago and we stopped in here as suggested. I’m so glad we did, curry pie was so good I also bought a tomato and onion pie YUMMO!! Hubs had a beef and veggie and a Mexican pie he loved both. For a treat I bought an apple turnover and an eclair, rather excited to try them. The lady who served was so nice and such a beautiful old fashioned shop, the service I got was so good. This bakery will be the one we stop at from now on without a doubt.

Dropped in, I got a large tea and a salami, cheese and tomato sandwich, yum! Quick friendly service. There are plenty of parking spaces at the door.

As soon as I stepped inside I was immediately transported to my childhood. All of the cakes I’d grown up eating where on display!

A traditional bakery that creates beautiful pies and some of the best sourdough you’ll find. Feels like stepping into an earlier time. Don’t miss it

This pie shop is a joke, the pies are not made with love , and I ❣️ my country cooking, they ripped me off and thought my first time in Blayney they’ll insult me by asking me to pay another charge for a pie after ripping me off, people deserve to know about this business. No star, The pies weren’t tasty the only place they were good for was the trash can with the amount of money I was charged. I come through Blayney again please I know where not to stop even if I’m hungry.

Nice country bakery with decent coffee and cakes. It’s a long way to the top of you want a sausage roll! No longer owned by the Akehurst family.

My elderly parents had a poor experience with unfriendly, unhelpful service here when they stopped by for lunch on a day trip from Orange where they were visiting family. They were both given the completely wrong sandwich orders (wrong bread, wrong fillings – and they weren’t asking for anything complicated or unusual but accepted the sandwiches without a fuss despite it not being what they wanted). They were then treated with impatience and rudeness when they asked politely for a plate instead of a wrapped package as they were dining in. When they asked could they please have a glass of water they were told that they didn’t have any water. It was basically very unwelcoming and sadly, not the friendly country hospitality they’ve experienced many times elsewhere.

This morning I brought one steak and pepper pie and one large flat white coffee. It came to $9.10. I gave the woman $20.00, and received back $0.90 cents. $19.10 for a pie and a coffee. The shop wasn’t filled with customers. So do we blame Australia’s education system. Or is simply a case of pure dishonesty. How sad that standards are falling everywhere. I won’t be spending my nurse’s wage in that store again.
