My partner was looking for ramen online, but everything was closed and so we drove to Kingston for something else. We stumbled upon this place, which makes Ramen, and so we went in to try.

A beautifully styled space with the fun of a sushi train offering a continuous stream of sushi and other dishes. We had takeaway, which was quite nice. The staff member who served me was polite and friendly, though a little too optimistic about the wait time. The overall experience could have been improved by more careful attention to detail in the sushi work (neatness and precision), and consideration to the packaging (paper bags in a plastic carry bag made for some slightly squashed sushi rolls). Also, the layout of the shop entrance is awkward as the open door blocks the takeaway counter, requiring lots of polite shuffling of people whenever a customer enters. Would like to return for the dine-in sushi train experience.

Monica is so lovely and the other staff are great also. I’m so happy that an awesome sushi train place has finally come to Kingston. There’s a great selection of dishes which taste very nice, and it’s been very busy every time I’ve seen it. Easy to use ipad or phone ordering system, free water and refills, and beautiful painting on the wall make for a great place to enjoy Sunday lunch. I’ve found my new fave local restaurant in Kingston to visit 😀 Will definitely have to come back with my whole family.

We booked for a group of 7 on a Tuesday night. Super happy we did, all plates were the one low price of $3.90 which is super cheap! Usually the plates are charged according to the colour.

Always great quality for a sushi train. Service is pretty quick. Shop is a little tight, but an excellent option.

Not sure if there has been a change in management or ownership? The sashimi platter has less and smaller sized pieces than in the past. The fish is not as fresh and is now served on a horrible plate that looks like a bathroom tile. Wine list does not correspond with wine in stock. Cleanliness also needs attention… the venue needs a deep clean….

Tsubame is always a safe bet for good, affordable food. It’s mostly freshly made but occasionally on the stale side. The staff have always been lovely and offer great suggestions from the menu. The eat in food is slightly better quality than what you get through delivery, but has never been terrible or had any serious issues before.

Best sushi in Kingston. The Japanese cheesecake is a must. They even bring out your food on a mini train.
