Unfortunately terrible. I don’t like giving bad raps as we like to punt and eat at the Sands. We firmly believe the cook had a day off. All food was overcooked. Gluten Free hamburger roll was as hard as a ceramic plate. You couldn’t break it with the back of a knife handle. The schnitzel was well done and like rubber. When asked by both the bar staff member and manager, we provided our feedback expecting a replacement meal at least for the GF burger. I was so disappointed for my GF wife. The manager tapped the back of the bun, it went a loud bang, she said it was no good and that she would provide feedback to the chef. No replacement. That was it. Honestly. We left for elsewhere. We just had to provide negative feedback.

Myself and my partner had a lovely meal in The Sands Tavern. The food was delicious we got the southern fried chicken burger and butter chicken pot pie along with chips with gravy and aioli. The food was delicious, great portion sizes and the service was great. Two lovely women served us, they were very friendly and helpful. We also got a scoop of gelato for dessert which was divine and the woman serving us offered of tasters and gave her recommendations. Would definitely come back here again!

Absolutely the best experience for a birthday celebration! Coming from 3 different destinations- for a family get together for a birthday- excellent halfway meet. Staff absolutely sensational. I heard this tavern loves dogs and I found they certainly do! Took my dog there for dinner as it was his first birthday. They were beautiful and accommodating and spoilt Gus like crazy with lots of hugs and treats. The food was amazing as well

Unfortunately I ordered thru Uber eats and they dont have a review section. My experience with their food is so annoying I went looking for somewhere to let them know how unacceptable their business practices are. I should of just set fire to $100. We ordered 3 dishes. Portion sizes of pasta and gnocci were pathetic at best, (partner now making himself bacon and eggs). Snitzel ok but only a sprinkle of chips. All food was stone cold and tasteless!! I would have done better buying You Foods. Will be actively warning people not to bother eating there. This was suppose to be a treat, disappointment doesn’t cover it.

We went here for dinner on a Saturday night and were blown away at how good the food was! We had the Lamb Shank and the special Spaghetti Marana. The shank was cooked to perfection with a nice mix of vegetables, and the marinara had plenty of good quality and well cooked seafood in a yummy red sauce (wish I took a photo of that too cause it looked amazing, topped with 5 or 6 mussels in their shell). Even the kids fish and chips was great! They have an inside play area with a good mix of toys to play with and a little outside play area too which kept our 4 year old busy and happy. Will definitely be going back again soon!

We came for the $15 Monday night steaks, which were good. My son had the hotdog, which he felt had too much sauce, and the calamari which was delicious. My daughter had the burger, which she liked but found the soft bun disintegrated and there was too much sauce. Chips, service, and price were all good. 4/5
