Stumbled across this beautiful spot during a weekend down the coast. They are pet friendly which we loved . The waitress was an absolute gem! Very kind, informative, attentive. She recommended the seafood platter for two and it came out fresh . My only MINOR critique was a little too much onion on the oyster , it hid the beauty of the seafood. the location was stunning , atmosphere great and there’s buckets of bread for the fish which is great for if there’s children .

So disappointed. As a local this would be my 4th visit and unfortunately it has been a slow decline but Mothers Day was the worst Oysters from a jar, small they where barely noticeable in the reused shells, at $46 a dozen we won’t be recommending nor will we be coming back then there was the prawn skewers 3 fresh from Coles with rice and pre made slaw also for $29 really they need a real chef. With the location it’s so sad they can’t serve fresh local seafood instead of the bought in frozen rubbish they dish up, do yourself a favour and avoid the disappointment

The service was outstanding, we ordered the kilpatrick oysters and had a few cocktails, the staff were very accommodating, stayed open a little later for us so we could continue to enjoy our night, Matt in the kitchen was fantastic, he kept checking to ensure everything was up to standard and it was. He also played a prank on my daughter who was thrilled and very happy to be included. Bar staff were amazing and auper friendly, Exceptional customer service and food. Will be back and will recommend to friends,

Great new restaurant in Tweed. Opened in December 2021. Right on the river. So a great outlook to sit back and enjoy lunch. The Oyster Shed belongs to Catch a Crab. The menu has a good choice range. We all had something different. And nobody was disappointed. The only negative we experienced was the service. We were first in and were virtually last to get served. Its the only negative for the whole experience. Also there’s a large crab for photo opportunities

Ridiculously overpriced and consistently understaffed (and they know it too…every time we’re asked to ‘bear with us’). This was our third (and final) visit – we love the setting and the staff are lovely so we keep coming back hoping for a different experience to make the $$ worthwhile but it never happens. Every time we’ve been, there has been a long wait for our food, even when not busy. This time our food took 1.2 hrs to get to us. It wasn’t worth the wait….$60 for a sea food platter for one, and this is what you get? Totally ridiculous.

Visited on Mother’s day and it was packed. The staff were so friendly and professional even though they were flat out, constantly checking on us and refreshing drinks. The food was very good and well presented. This is a well run business and the staff really make it a pleasant experience
