Utterly delicious. This place is a real gem, many people walked straight past and missed out on the best French food I’ve had and I’ve spent a lot of time in France! We had the quiche and Croque Monsieur and then three desserts because we couldn’t decide! Both the crème brûlée and the Tarte Tatin were torched at the table which was a lovely touch and all the desserts were to die for. If you only have time for one thing have the crème brûlée! The owner and chef is a true professional and I have no idea why he is hiding in the Australian rainforest but it’s fantastic!

Dropping a 5 star rating on this small and unassuming establishment without hesitation or uncertainty!

Come here to meet the Frenchiest Frenchman I’ve ever seen in the highlands of Cairns. Sweet Gossip came recommended highly by friends but when we arrived there was no one manning the store. When I returned a little later the owner was back, but hardly apologetic. The eclairs, profiteroles and almond tarts were admittedly well above average, plus the French sandwich I ordered with Italian salami was one of the best fresh sandwiches I’ve tasted. However the aloofness of the owner and his constant darting in and out of the store just to grab change money left a less-than-impressed feel to what is otherwise a fine little café.

Made a day trip to Kuranda and it was lunch time when we happened upon this tiny French cafe run by Frank. 10/10 recommend! Excellent food that was fresh and straight out of the oven. Frank was extremely fun and nice and service was top notch. You could really feel the personal touch and it felt like eating at a friend’s house. Highly recommend the French Sandwich with ham as well as the creme brûlée and tarte tatin. Also the best coffee I’ve had during my trip to Australia!

Absolutely amazing service and desserts. I ordered an americano coffee and Tart tatin…….delicious. the best dessert I have in fact ever eaten. The owner served it with a blow torch in hand, creme in the other(mini french lesson a lovely addition). I will definitely be back.

A simple menu, but the food served was absolutely mouth-watering delicious! I’d say you’ll hardly find better tasting French cuisine around the area. The Chef was very polite and charming as well. Makes for a lovely dining experience!

Tucked away in a back market is Sweet Gossip, offering a limited menu but delicious food. We had the bacon quiche and croque monsieur, both served with mixed greens. Don’t forget a chocolate eclair! You will not be disappointed.
