We decided to come here for lunch as we heard the menu had been updated with some new dishes. The food was great and the dining staff were very lovely and attentive. The pan-fried fish of the day and speaker’s twice-cooked chips were delicious! We also tried the rhubbarb and apple pie with folded cream which was sooo good. I’d love to return to try the high-tea and scones 🙂

I came here with a couple of my university friends back in 2019 because it was the most affordable high tea location we could find at the time ($50; prices have increased now). Staff were really friendly and the sandwiches, desserts and tea were delicious, all sourced within Victoria. Dining within Parliament House is a wonderful experience, with the historic and lavish interior, and old-timey furnishing and cutlery. Parliament staff also invited us onto a free tour of the corridors of Parliament and the two legislative chambers; I got the chance to sit in the Speaker’s chair! Definitely would recommend, despite the price rise.

Beautiful surroundings, so relaxing. Staff attentive, friendly, polished, professional – a true delight. Food superb. Coffee lives up to Melbourne standards. A magnificent building full of history and interesting architectural features. A large open expanse is very welcoming and will feel very safe in our Covid days. Wish this was my local!

We came here for a high tea and it was a wonderful experience. Parliament house is truly a spectacular piece of architecture. Walking through the building to strangers corridor was amazing. We were seated in the corridor for at a table and served our high tea. The food was delicious and experience lovely as we sat in a building that carries so much history and beauty. I loved that the food was sourced from Victorian farms and businesses and that even the cups and plates were Australian. I highly recommend booking in for a high tea and coming here. I believe this needs to be on every Victorian’s bucket list and if you are visiting Melbourne a great attraction to get a taste of local.

Decadent high tea in beautiful surroundings. Scones, sandwiches, cakes, tea or coffee, and Champagne – what more could you want? Received as a gift from our daughter. Fabulous idea! Lovely staff. You enter through a scanner, so be prepared for the security. Will definitely go again.
