These pizzas were a life saver and delicious! Places close earlier in Yamba then we were expecting and Sassafras’s kitchen was open the latest. We ordered the lamb and the patch and the patch. Both were excellent, but extra shout out to the lamb, it was outstanding!

Great food (I had the lasagne) great staff. They worked us in on a busy night. Everything was timely and hot. Great experience all the way round. I do recommend booking in ahead of time.

Highly recommend this restaurant. Gold Coast resident(holidays) but these pizzas are the best ever. Service extremely friendly and felt very welcomed throughout our experience. Must try for all visitors and will definitely be recommending to everyone. Keep up the excellent food and service.

Didn’t love my pizza as there was too much topping and it overwhelmed the small pizza base. The chef got my order wrong and when I asked the waitress to discuss it with him he suggested giving me the missing ingredients on the side (uncooked). Ummm, weird. When I was paying the cashier asked me how everything was but when I told her, ‘not great’ she simply stared at me and said, ‘right’, so that left me feeling worse than if she hadn’t asked. The decor is great but apart from that maybe I’ll try another pizza place next time I’m in town…

What a little gem!! Dined in.. welcoming restaurant where you don’t feel crowded, even though they were busy. Try the Rat Trap entree… basket of small hot crunchy (soft in the middle) bread rolls with various flavoured butters… delicious!! We had Carbonara and a seafood spaghetti for mains…perfectly cooked pasta, very generous servings and the seafood was plentiful and very fresh. The Sticky Date Pudding we had for dessert was the best we’d ever had (and we’ve had a few!!)… served with a large dish of creamy vanilla icecream … so much that you didn’t run out of icecream before you finished the sticky date pud. The meal and drinks came to very reasonable price.. and we waddled away very happy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

I don’t know what went wrong here tonight, Judging by other reviews the pizza here looks great. New staff? Inexperience? Lack of pride? Either way, the pizza we ordered tonight was the worst I’ve ever tried to eat. Undercooked, soggy, drowned in BBq sauce, no crunch, and totally inedible. Most went in the bin. The only edible bit was the outside crust, the rest was uncooked and horrible. We won’t eat pizza again on our road trip. This has completely put us off. What a waste of money! I would give zero stars if I could.
