The noodle salad bowl with tofu I ordered lacked any flavour. It felt slapped together. The tofu wasn’t even marinated and was cold and bland. There was no pickled diakon and they do not offer soy dressing for vegetarians for vegans (no fish sauce option), so had to eat it with the hoison dipping sauce, not ideal. Wouldn’t come back.

Stop over to grab late lunch. Went for the cracking pork noodle salad / teriyaki rice bowl / crispy chicken rice bowl and fried lemongrass chicken kway tiao. Still pretty good considered it’s a suburban little Asian eatery.

It’s the only place in Barker for a Bahn Mi or Noodle Bowl so it’s very popular, but compared to most other places in Adelaide it’s a bit plain. The rolls aren’t buttered or spread with anything (not mayo or pate like most other places), the only seasoning is a touch of watered down soy sauce. I suggest adding sriracha sauce for some flavour. The noodle bowls are also flavourless, but they are very generous with the meat. For the vegos, the tofu is uncooked and unseasoned but they’ll squeeze soy sauce on it when they serve it. It just appears they do the minimum to get a product out the door, and they’ll struggle with business if another Bahn Mi shop opens in the town. Service is great though, and I’ve not had their fried rice or curries yet. Hopefully they put in a little more effort soon!

It’s been a favourite of mine for many years. Always fresh and delicious. Wide range of pan Asian dishes. Highly recommend.

I’ve had a lot of banh mi from different places in Adelaide and I can confidently say this is the best I’ve had. They absolutely load the meat on. Perfect! Tastes great. Not sure on the recent review saying they are expensive…definitely on the cheaper side for banh mi and loaded. Great value for money. Always served quickly too

Feast your eyes (and stomach) on this meal! It was loaded with plenty of meat, but I couldn’t help but feel that it could have used a little more seasoning to bring out the flavors. I asked for extra chillies to give it a spicy kick, but unfortunately it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. Don’t get me wrong, it was still a tasty meal, but next time I’ll have to ask for a side of hot sauce to bring the heat. Overall, a decent experience, but just not quite fiery enough for my liking.

The Bahn Mi would be enhanced by swapping out the fake bottled chili paste/sauce for REAL SLICED CHILI. The meats could be a little more tasty, but the salad is nice and is well enjoyed. Being the only Bahn Mi in Mt Barker means Saigon have the monopoly and they do charge more expensively than Adelaide outlets for lesser quality, however the flavour of the Bahn Mi is in no way terrible, and does provide a filling meal which does satisfy despite the bottled chili paste which I loathe. The other readily available snacks are nice. I have not tried the menu items nor the Pho so cannot comment on them.
