The staff were attentive and friendly… but the food was unfortunately disappointing. The eggplant chips and spring rolls were heavily oily and the chicken green curry had deep fried battered chicken pieces in it, which greatly altered the curry taste. Expectations were high after experiencing exceptional food quality at Giddy Geisha & Rice Boi, but sadly, the food at this restaurant did not meet this standard.

Piggyback had already made its name by the time I finally got to eat here and I was not disappointed. First visit I shared the whole fried snapper with a friend and it was superb. All the flavours of the lychee salad complemented the fish perfectly. The batter wasn’t overly oily or greasy and the portion size was perfect for two hungry ladies. The second time I visited with my friend who’d lived in Thailand for several years and we were both equally impressed: we shared the spring rolls, eggplant chips and 10hr coconut braised beef and everything was delicious. The atmosphere is great, although I wouldn’t say it is child friendly as it is not properly fenced and you have to make sure they don’t run out of sight to the nearby waterway or road. Also beware of flies in the hot summer weather and ask for a fly fan repeller as they have them available. Overall I highly recommend for some excellent Asian food.

The coconut braised beef is insanely flavourful with many complex flavours – definitely a must try!! The only negative was that it was soooo salty. Don’t think it would usually be like this… I’m still keen to give Piggyback another go!

Food was great, cocktails awesome, however we waited over 40min for our cocktails, no fault of the bar staff as there was one lady attending to the whole restaurant, the food also took over an hour to get our lotus chips than another 1/2 hr for our mains which also came out staggered. Will not be going back. So short staffed.

This place is something!!. The food was great my wife really enjoyed her Tamarind glazed beef short ribs,my son ordered My Ramen and I ordered Charcoal 1/2 chicken green curry. I must mention the staff were amazing and very accommodating. Better try it for your self and be the judge.There were flies when we visited but they have managed to give us a device to shoo them away ️ #spring
