I have a high standard when eating Vietnamese food, probably due to my family cooking it and the best broken rice I’ve ever tasted in Vietnam, and this place did not go near it. I had the broken rice with the lot. The first thing about the dish was that it was a pretty small serving. The pork chop was unusually small. The shredded pork had an unappealing pale colour, and I realised they had forgotten to add the roasted ground rice to it, which is added to give it a lovely texture, favour and colour to the pork skin. The sauce was washed out. I was disappointed they did not serve the usual 3 coloured drink. The chicken ribs were oily and the fried rice needed some flavour. Ordered vermichilli with beef and vegetables. Lots of unpleasant/unwanted cooked brown onion. Not enough veg – very disappointing.

I ordered the rice vermicelli with grilled pork and added spring rolls. The pork was great, the portion size was generous however it lacked the hallmarks of VN cuisine… no mint, coriander or chilli and the nuoc mam seemed to be watered down.
