It’s easy to recommend the lunch special at Customs House, given you get two courses for $50 (or can get a third for slightly extra)—its good value! The meals are decent but given we got the weekday lunch special, it’s hard to judge whether the a la carte would be of the same quality. Regardless, you’re going there to eat at a beautiful building with one of the best views of the Brisbane River. Go on a sunny day and it would be pretty tough to have a bad time.

We celebrated birthday here on a Sunday evening. The staffs were very attentive, we asked a gentleman to swap our seats from inside to outside which was easily done. We were looked after by Carolina throughout the night. Carolina was all smiles and very caring the entire time, asked if we needed our girl’s water bottle filled up when she realised it’s running low. She then surprised us with a birthday crème brûlée at the end of our dinner! The atmosphere was great, we watched over the river and ferries pass by as we dined. Fantastic experience, would come back again in a heartbeat!

Excellent venue in historic settings on the river. Fairly good food at the Patinas restaurant but the food quality at the functions (attended a couple of functions here) does need improvents. Run by UQ the service staff are eager, pleasant and efficient. A bit of training would enable them to equal the best in the city

Great outdoor dining by the river with stunning views of the Story Bridge. I went with a small group for lunch on a Saturday, we didn’t need to make a reservation. Outdoor heaters were amazing. Friendly staff & great food.

Had my birthday dinner here and it was lovely. The outdoor seating with a beautiful view of the river and the bridge was nothing short of fabulous. It was a windy winter evening but we were kept warm by the heater on the ceiling. Everyone enjoyed their dishes, especially the perfectly cooked steak and the yummy strawberry and chocolate dessert options. Most of all, the staff were very attentive to our needs.

My Husband, who is generally not a lover of fancy food, made the statement… “Best Meal Ever!” The Beetroot Tarte Tartin Entree was perfect for sharing! The Darling Downs Eye Fillet was melt in your mouth, the Venison was tender and juicy and the cheese sauce took it to the next level!! Even the side of Baby Carrots had us wanting more!!! Our two lovely waitresses were friendly and present without cramping our style and watching the giant orange moon rise in the distance at the end of the Story Bridge was pure magic!! We will definitely be back!!
