Really nice place that has clearly had better times. The pizza is NO longer the delicious blistered woodfired pizza of past reviews. See my photo for the underwhelming offer. The prawn and chilli tagliatelle is possibly the blandest pasta dish I’ve ever tried. Drinks did not arrive until well into our meal.

I came here a few months ago and the food was amazing making it my favourite Italian restaurant in Wollongong, but after visiting again with such high expectations, I was very disappointed to find they had cut down and changed the dinner menu. Not only had some of their best dishes been removed, but when the food came, the quality was unbelievably poor. The pizza seemed as though it was made on a pre-made base (see image), instead of the fresh, woodfire base that it was 4 months ago. The images in the previous reviews are nothing like how it is now. The Ragu pasta was bland and lacked tremendously in quality, especially considering the price. You are now paying for the location, and the location only – I would not recommend eating here if you are looking for an Italian restaurant with good quality food.

Pizzas here are chewy and tasty with great flavour. Start off with the warmed (you’ve got to love a true wood fired oven, which I hear was delivered via helicopter) Sicilian olives, nicely marinated with garlic lemons in olive oil. We had a wood fired pizza, a la Norma. Full of chomp and flavour, sided with a fresh salad with heritage tomatoes, feta and a basil pesto. The little soft delightful gnocchi swims in a creamy truffle sauce. Absolutely delightful. And a hot cup of tea and a crisp white wine. What more can you ask for? Oh, the views over north beach, superb. And the staff are friendly, attentive and service is on time. Try this one. I know you pizza lovers will thank me.

All the other times I have been to North Beach Pavillion the food has been amazing. This time however, not a single meal was very enjoyable. We had the prosciutto pizza, antipasto, and sweet potato salad. Even the sweet potato salad had two chunks of chicken thigh, they weren’t even cut up for us.

We ordered pork pizza, bruschetta pizza both very yummy. Beef cheeks were amazingly tender plate could have done with some more colour on it carrots corn green beans. Chicken bacon pasta was too dry not much flavour at all sadly. Customers service excellent.
