I dined at RASHAYS recently and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was inviting, and the staff were exceptionally attentive. I tried both a chicken meal and a salmon dish, and both were cooked to perfection. The flavors were well-balanced, and the portion sizes were generous. Pricing was reasonable for the quality of the meal. I highly recommend RASHAYS and will definitely be back to try more from their menu.

I took my mother here for lunch after a trip from Sydney on the train to North Wollongong. This restaurant is located very close to the station and within walking distance for my mother who is 88 and uses a walking stick.

My partner and I had dinner here last night. I have been here in the past and it’s been wonderful. Last night was absolutely awful. Usually we are fine with food taking it’s time to come out, no issue. However, our meals took an hour and a half to come out. I received mine and it was stone cold. My partners meal came out 20 minutes after and it was the wrong meal. He had asked for a rare steak and it came out with a medium flag. The waitress also threw his food at him and when we tried to tell them that his steak was cooked wrong she walked off before we could mention it. After receiving no service, I caught her around the corner talking with a coworker. I understand things can go wrong in the kitchen so I was super polite when mentioning that his meal was wrong and that both of our meals were cold. She said it’s not her problem and walked off, again.

I forgot her name but the young girl who started working on the 10th June (it was her first shift) was amazing, she handled a situation with a very rude and entitled group of Boomers with such grace and patience, especially for her age. We felt so bad that she was being treated like that on her induction by awful customers and hope that the manager appreciates what a great worker they have just hired! She was very attentive and a very hard worker :))

So overall, the service and atmosphere are good but the food was shocking. Im a regular customer so this upset me a fair bit. I was served steak that had gone off. It had a funky smell and taste and thats when I knew something was up. I asked to see the batch of meat they opened mine up from and it had an off smell with the smell of ammonia. I called head office and even the poisons department. They said the meat gets sent from head office. Its ridiculous how a chef cant even buy local cuts of meat but fair enough. However what upset me was that he couldnt even tell it was off. Only until I asked the chef and the manager to smell it did they agree with me. These guys are normally amazing so I dont put it down to them, but the chef should have known. Im currently feeling ill and hope it doesnt get too bad. This was the last straw for me. I wont ever be going back to rashays from now on. The other points are that the food is ridiculously overpriced for what it is. Wont be going back.
