Gold Coast hospitality identity Scott Imlach is at it again. The owner of Hideaway Kitchen & Bar, Bine Bar & Dining, Nightjar & Nightcap has opened his fifth venue – a Cantonese restaurant in Burleigh Heads called Mr Hizola’s. Mr Hizola’s focusesheavily on food, serving contemporary Cantonese by day and night, alongside a tight collection of cocktails and boutique wines.

I was so excited to visit this place and yesterday we finally got the chance to go, my husband and I are pretty easy, we seriously never complain but I think they need to know that the food was not good. We ordered the braised pork and coconut rice. The pork was just big chunks of fat(literally just fat)and the coconut rice was cold, you can see that they cook the rice separately and then just mixed it with a can of coconut milk, but they didn’t stir well so there was parts with just thick coconut milk. Thanks to the waitress who kindly heard us and remove this dish from our bill but we definitely DON’T recommend this place.

We had a great night out last night at Mr Hizolas. From the start we felt right at home. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Food came out at just the right intervals and was so yummy. We chose to order from the menu and had so many options to choose from. We will definitely be back to try more!

First time visiting and the experience was really great. The food was amazing. We opted for the Emperor’s Feast which was way more than we needed. We especially loved the Lotus Root ‘chips’, Asian greens, steamed fish and Duck pancakes. The sizzling beef was tasty but the addition of brandy (which they set alight at the table) did taint the beef flavour a little in our opinion, but it was still juicy and tender. Staff were really friendly.

Best boozy brunch ever! The menu is always changing, but the food never disappoints! 2-hour spritz (5 flavors!) with a big plate of food for $55 per person. One plate is the steak and the other is the vegetarian option which is mixed veggies. A la carte is also amazing- everything here is so tasty!

My partner and I loved our experience! We each had the emperors feast for $65 per person and it was so worth it. You can sample so much from the menu. Would highly recommend the sizzling wagyu steak, it was the best I’ve ever had and a very generous portion. Everything was delicious and creative. We were served by many different staff and each one of them was super well manured.
