I think I was expecting too much about this ramen shop. Ramen was good but not that wow. I could say the broth was light, not too heavy, but it’s kinda tasteless for me. The price was ok. And it’s kinda busy shop as well, a lot of customers coming.

A lot of excellent choices on the menu, taste good, and the soup is rich. Tired Hakato Tokotsu and Yokohama tokotsu shoyu ramen. Get extra set which include small curry rice and gyoza. Everything taste nice and the environment is clean and quiet. Little bit disappointed that just see beer on the counter menu but actually realised they do have canned drinks after sitting down. Think it will be better if they have the drink menu on board.

A few weeks ago I visited this place. It was a long time coming, because it’s the head sister chain of my current favourite ramen restaurant, Goku ramen which is based in Glebe. So of course, at some point I had to visit here, the place where it all begun.

Menya is my go-to Ramen when I’m in Sydney for work, and don’t have time to make it to Gumshara. I’ve been coming here for over ten years, and while the prices have gone up slightly the quality of the ramen hasn’t changed. Quick service, even when they’re busy.

Went there for early dinner on a Friday night. We were surprised that it was not too busy, which was great as everywhere was jam-packed. Ordered ramen (chef’s recommendation) and mini pork don for my toddler. The ramen broth (tonkotsu) is rich and yummy, the noodles however is a bit too soft for my liking. The pork don tastes great too. The indoor area is not spacious while the outdoor seating is pretty good size. It will be my go-to ramen place if I live in Sydney.

First time here and food was fabulous! I got the Shoyu Ramen with Beef. However the reason for 4 stars was because the lady that served me rolled her eyes and sighed inconveniently when I asked what the difference between the broth options were. Other than that, great and fast service 🙂

I had their spicy ramen noodles for lunch and it was tasty. Very authentic. So I ordered a curry rice to take away for dinner. OMG. Their curry rice is so delicious. And they were so accommodating when I asked for extra curry sauce – without charge. This would never have happened back in Singapore.

There was a queue when I visited the place. Instructions are confusing. Not sure to grab a table first or to order first. Nonetheless, managed to get hold of 2 tables quickly for my group. They have quite a variety of ramen noodle soup base. I believe there should be something available whether u are a fan of shoyu, tonkatsu or miso soup. Side dishes are quite good too. Overall experience is decent!

Nice little noodle bar tucked away from the hustling and bustling street. Also comfortably far away from the pub nearby.

Went for lunch and there were many businessmen waiting to get a table inside. The food came out quite fast and the portions were great. The gyoza was nice and crispy on the outside and juicy. The broth was warm and was seasoned well. Overall satisfied and the price is reasonable too.
