Szechuan Chicken was good and the quantity of meat and rice for $13 was very good. The taste was a bit on the milder side for me in terms of hotness, and I wish there were more vegetables, but overall the taste was 4/5.

I’m from Melbourne and going to Sydney for a break is always fun. Ma’s kitchen food is soo good and I have no problem with the service. Cheap Cantonese meals and keep you full.

reminder! cash only!!! been here so many times.. coz the food is great!!! you can expect good and cheap food here.. ( considered cheap for me at this time june 2023, most of the meal here less than 15$) it’s true that the service is not good for some people, but hey, it’s a foodcourt! not a fine dining resto.. cheap and good food makes this shop like a hidden gem. i wish they could accept card.. if you guys could just ignore and accept the service.. trust me.. you will thank me later!

The only place I eat at when visiting Chinatown. Great value, fantastic food. Prawn and cashew stir fry had a very generous amount of prawns and the dish was hot and tasty. Seafood stir fry ordered by husband was full of scallops and succulent prawns. A firm favourite. Had the Indonesian Fried Rice today and it was awesome, full of fat prawns and fantastic flavours. Another favourite is the salt and pepper tofu. Scrumptious!

Absolute worst service I’ve ever experienced. Please do not give this guy your hard earned money, he clearly doesn’t care. There are so many other better places to eat.

I wanted to order something small from each place in the mall to partake a little in each culture. I approached the counter and the cashier/manager?? came up to the counter and grabbed a pen and pad, ready to take the order. I asked for one pork bun, since that was on the menu – ONE pork bun for $3. Not 3 for $9, one single pork bun for $3 on the menu. The man asked, “Just one?” and I confirmed, and he dropped the pen and pad, frowned at me and waved me away like a fly. He took a few steps back into the kitchen and began storing something, and I just stood there, because I had no idea what to do. He noticed me still standing there and frowned at me again and flicked his hand at me. I ended up ordering one thing from one other place, and once I had eaten, returned to Ma’s to ask the man if I had offended him or done something disrespectful. He was in the kitchen stirring something, and he said something to me which I couldn’t make out, so I asked “excuse me, sorry?” He retreated out the back for like 30 seconds, came out to the counter right in front of me and grabbed the pen and paper, took it to the counter behind him and scribbled something out, then disappeared into the kitchen again for another 20 seconds, came out and stirred something in a pot for 20 seconds, and then finally approached the counter properly and looked at me. I asked him again if I had done something wrong, and pointed out the pork bun option on the menu, which had pictured ONE pork bun for $3, so I assumed that could be ordered. He just said, “What am I going to do with $3?” I looked at him in surprise, and he said, “If you want that, get it with something else. What am I going to do with $3?” and then returned to the kitchen to keep stirring. Note: the menu explicitly had the option for ONE pork bun, and while there was a note taped to the menu that asked for cash transactions only, there was nothing anywhere about any minimum transactions, OR that sides could only be ordered with main dishes.
