Big dreams start with small details. And it’s the details Chef Louis pays incredible attention to at his gem of a restaurant in Launceston. He creates dishes that celebrate local Tasmanian produce: melt-in-your-mouth braised ox cheek, with a perfect tender texture that retains its bite; fluffy gnocchi that feels like you’re eating clouds, and pork belly with unbelievable crispness, complemented with delectable apple sauce.

Everything was perfect. The service was outstanding and friendly. The chef came out of the kitchen and asked if we enjoyed the meals, and the food was simply perfect. It could not be better. The wallaby and ox were so delicious and on point. Moreover, the prices are totally reasonable for what you get at the restaurant

Oh My Goodness such delicious food. Perfect ravoli with the best butter sage sauce I’ve tasted; melt in your mouth beef cheek with fluffy pillows of gnocchi. Immediately booked for next available night as limited to 20 people an evening, bookings essential.

A little gem of bistro style diner in the middle of CBD Launceston, thoroughly enjoyed the dinner with very personal service. Food was excellent, from entree to main and desserts were wonderful

Gosh where to I start, from the vibrant warm and classy atmosphere to the welcome you get upon your arrival and the tailored service (prior to serving any food checking if the dining party has any dietary or other requirements etc which I think all restaurants should do)

Quite possibly the most delicious food I’ve had in a very long time. To think I’ve come away raving about carrots! All dishes were lick-your-plate-clean delicious. Clever combinations of flavours in every meal. Cauliflower done four ways, the creamiest ice cream you’ve ever tried, and incredibly fluffy gnocchi. Super attentive staff and a fabulous wine selection. Highly recommend Luz – get there!

We were recommended this place from a local when I asked their favourite restaurant. Food and service were both exceptional. We had the gnocchi, broccoli and pork dish – could not fault it in any way.

We celebrated our daughter’s birthday here at Luz Restaurant lastnight. Started out with the scallops and salmon, followed by the pork belly, barramundi and wallaby for mains and finished off with the chocolate fondant. Every dish was a delight – I partcularly enjoyed the salmon and wallaby and my husband loved the fish. The chocolate fondant was a big hit for the kids. Service was also outstanding! We are from Sydney and will definitely return to Luz Restaurant when we visit Launceston again.
