Very very salty dishes in the tasting menu. The decision to put sashimi in between two very salty courses makes me question whether this is an authentic Japanese restaurant. Beef is of very high quality but was sadly overcooked. Prawn in the tempura was not fresh although the preparation was good. A restaurant with terribly wasted potential.

i went here for dinner to celebrate my anniversary, the service was great and the vibes of the restaurant however literally every single dish we had was so salty. we only enjoyed the cheesecake and wagyu tacos in the tasting menu. however what was extremely disappointing was how they had a good amount and staff yet no one actually tried the food. seriously, no place puts that much salt in everything

My wife and I stopped in for dinner at 7.00 pm on Thursday evening, after seeing an entertaining Taiko performance outside the Museum of Sydney. The Maître de took us to our table and continued to take our orders and bring our meals. The friendly and efficient service was impeccable. We decide to order a-la-carte and order the items individually. We started with sparkling and still mineral water, then the tasty Miso soup, the wonderfully presented 6 piece Signature Sushi, the delightful Cuttlefish Sushi, the delicious Miso glazed eggplant, the melt in the mouth confit of Ocean Trout, 2 tasty Wagyu Tacos, then 2 very palatable Salmon Tacos, then another 2 Wagyu Tacos (clearly favourites). I drank a delicious bottle of hot Kunizakari Daiginjo Sake, while my wife stuck with the mineral water. We then ate dessert including the Yuzu Pavlova and the fabulous Cheesecake and a well made cappuccino and a flat white coffee. Staff gave us a complimentary, refreshing, glass of iced Plum Wine to complete our meal. This was our best meal this year, we really loved it. The modern setting was appropriate for the style of food served here. Meals are expensive, but we think it was worth it. A meal here is highly recommended.

Going to Kazan dining was such an amazing experience. I went here for my anniversary and they did not let us down. We went to kazan on a Monday, would recommend as it is not too busy and loud and the staff are attentive to you. We ordered the set menu, the amount of food that was served was very delicious and generous. The portion sizes were not too large as they will serve you many dishes throughout the set menu. Very worth the price and extremely filling. The cocktails were really well balanced and the flavours were beautifully thought through. The dessert was simple and delicious and they wrote ‘happy anniversary’ for our special occasion. When booking the restaurant online you can also select the option of occasion. And they were able to make our night even more special. Definitely would recommend to anyone who would love to celebrate and special occasion or would like to treat themselves to great Japanese food.

Quiet, very cosy restaurant in Sydney, with a great atmosphere. Service is impeccable and the food…..yum yum yum. Doesn’t matter what you order, every mouthful is worth it. Parking is a little problematic, but you’ll always find somewhere to park if you get there a little earlier. If you want to drive that is. Kazan is definitely one of our favourite Japanese restaurants. Will always go back. The pictures don’t do the food justice
