What a fantastic and very authentic little Indian joint here at the Fremantle Markets. We just walked past Jacks store and the aroma was outstanding. We had to stop and we’re so glad we did. From the friendly service to the amazing goat curry and dosa’s felt like we were back in India.

Mr Murugan, a very friendly and approachable chef, said he started this South Indian cuisine 8 months ago. He told me his curry has no added sugar and no flour (I.e. gluten-free). I had tasted a few curry dishes and the spiciness were very mild except beef curry. I liked goat meat and curry flavour the most. He could cook the curry dishes spicier or less salty when requested. Wonderful right? A dish with 3 types of meat and 2 vege costs only $15.50. Value for money. Cheers! (2021-11)

Discovered IYYA Jack’s about a year ago and have been making regular trips from Perth for the dosas ever since, perfect execution, delicious chutneys and sambar. I always mean to try the curries but that is a pleasure to defer for now as I just can’t stop ordering the best value dosas in Perth. Owner/chef is really friendly and I wish him the best with his new digs at the Freo Foodcourt.

I was in Fremantle for few days and was craving for some nice South Indian food. I came across Jags one morning and was thrilled to try their Dosa, Arav’s idli & Vada… this place reminded me of eating dosa & Vada am@ Sarvana Bhavan in Chennai.. very authentic and genuine.. I also spoke broken Tamil with Eswaran.. wel done chef and hope to see u soon.
