The hard part is over. You’ve decided on where to eat. Host. is a casual 28 seat dining & wine bar located in the CBD of Toowoomba, the heart of dining in the Darling Downs. Our menu explores nostalgic flavours & complex dishes driven by local produce that excite us to develop and cook new dishes weekly. We offer an ever changing a-la-carte style menu, + a ‘Just Feed Me’ option for when you can’t decide. Our full menu is available Thursday to Sunday. Due to our small kitchen team, we are unable to cater for dietary requirements, however most dishes are free from gluten.

My husband and I love cooking ourselves, so really appreciate the complex simplicity of good flavours and quality food, but this dining experience has been absolutely phenomenal. Extraordinary flavours and food! It’s literally the best dining experience we have had in Australia- and we’ve been here 8 years! Everything was amazing- the staff, the service, the food, the wine… it was fantastic. A special Thank you to Bop for an amazing evening. We will definitely be back!

After many months of following Zevs Bistro via social media we finally had the chance to visit. After a warming arrival from the team, we first kicked off with a pick from Zevs killer wine list before jumping onto a wine pairing. Each wine of choice matched beautifully with Zevs dishes. Every plate was full of so much love making it such a wholesome experience.

I’m not much of a meat eater, but overall our first dining experience here was delicious, and each dish was curated and introduced with obvious expertise. The fact the dishes were small but plentiful gave us the opportunity to try a wide range of tastes without feeling overfull; the meal felt like the perfect amount. The house made lemonade was also a highlight and I really liked the zucchini flowers. The autumn veg felt like a few too many flavours in one, but still nice. If there was a more plant based version I’d probably go back every few months, but as it was, it was a lovely and unique dining experience that I’d recommend.

Zev’s proposition is that the restaurant explores nostalgic flavours and complex dishes. The produce is certainly excellent but the dishes are simple, very small and sometimes served with clumsy execution; our first course of clams came out after being seated for 30 minutes and were gritty with broken shells getting things of to a bad start.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Zev’s Bistro. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff were friendly, Knowledgeable and attentive. The menu had a great selection of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, and everything we tried felt like a party in our mouth 🙂 loved the beef! We’ll certainly come back! A solid 4.5 for me!

Host is a gem in Toowoomba, the food was delicious and had us thinking about it the next day. The wine selection when you order the splash is brilliant and gives you the opportunity to learn about new wines that you haven’t had before. Finally, the ambiance is perfect for a nice night out and the staff are incredibly helpful. Host is a destination to try if you like great food, and we will certainly be back.

Always such a phenomenal experience. Zev’s is far and away our favourite restaurant in Toowoomba. They not only prepare a delicious meal every single time (even with an ever-changing seasonal menu!) but have created a beautiful atmosphere, managed to find lovely staff that go above and beyond, and have even curated an impressive wine list.
