Hog’s Breath Cafe formerly known as Hog’s Breath Saloon, is an Australian and international restaurant chain and franchise of steak house restaurants serving since 1989. The pristine Pumicestone passage is immediately adjacent to our outdoor dining area, making it an idyllic location to slow down from the hustle and bustle of life, and absorb the comradery and hospitality of Hog’s Australia’s Steakhouse and the beauty of Caloundra. We have a menu full of Aussie classics and favourites. We were made famous for our tender, juicy steaks, but we also have delectable salads, pastas, burgers, wraps and more!

Ahh the sweet succulent taste of nostalgia. Slow cooked prime ribs with a calamari topper, traditional cut, medium rare were integral to my youth. Fast forward to my teens and Hogs went off the rails – really lost their way. Fast forward to now and the prodigal son has returned. Loved the steaks. Loved them. Exactly how I remember the Hogs of old.

Food was beautiful, however i was sitting next to the bar and overheard a conversation between two staff members about another staff member horribly, one had reddish hair and the other had brown. it doesn’t make it a nice place to eat when you can hear two staff members talking disgustingly about another staff member. i went in on the 17 9/23 and was quite disappointed by the atmosphere created.

Most meals were ok, however the steaks that we asked to be medium well done were horribly under. They did try to fix this but honestly the steak that came out wasn’t much better. Steak was far to fatty on both accounts, didn’t have the heart to complain again.

I visited to tonight for dinner. Very disappointed with the service as we were “greeted” by the “host” who pointed to a booth and said you can sit there and come and give me your order. There were maximum 3 other customers in the shop. Ordered 2 steaks, one medium and one well done. The medium was blue and the well done was still cold in the middle. When I spoke to our “host” I was informed that she would let the chef’s know. Never heard from her again. Won’t be back

The waiters are very professional n helpful. We came late for our dinner session tonight at 7.45pm. they still take our orders n still very helpful. They don’t rushed at all. Food was delicious. We had steak with yummy Byron bay chillies. Kids had double cheeseburger with curly fries n finish off rocky road ice for 1person but it was enough for 4 of us. Definitely will be back again.

Service was atrocious. So many mistakes with orders. Worst was I ordered drinks as soon as we got there and they just never came despite me asking 4 staff about the drinks!!! (Including the manager!) they just kept saying yep and doing nothing.
