Alright and finally we manage to locate and come by Five Guys Melbourne. While we are visiting Singapore, we chance upon Five Guys at Plaza Singapore. There, it’s a big restaurant with plenty of space and tables.

I heard here is a famous burger, so I really wanted to try it. The taste is normal compared to what I expected. I think the price is reasonable because the ingredients are very plentiful.

This famous burger chain is from the USA with only two outlets in all of Australia currently. The menu is simple, you either choose their normal burgers (double patties) or little burgers (single patty) and add the toppings of your liking. You can choose as many or as little as you want. Burger itself is good but definitely not something you can eat everyday due to its steep pricing. I ordered a little burger with small fries and small milkshake and it comes to around $30 – $40. The Cajun fries were much better than the burger in my opinion. It was crispy on the outside and “airy” on the inside.

Always a fan of Five Guys when I’m travelling, and I particularly loved it in NY and London. Was keen to find out how it fared here and translated to the Aussie burger market, where so much competition exists. It’s pretty much exactly the same – even pricing wise (it’s not cheap OS either). The burger is BIG (all double patty by default) and they overflow the chips as always – a small chips at 5.90 is easily equivalent to at least 3x large fries at McDonalds. Service was quick. Only downsides are: no fun drink mixing machines where you can make hundreds of combos, and no peanuts.

loved the Cajun chips here. Double fried chips with the most crisp outside and fluffy insides, the flavour is so aromatic and flavourful. The little hamburger has a juicy meat patty and choice of free toppings. The bun was unfortunately a bit soggy with the cheese.

This is my second time here only because I wanted my daughter to try it as well. I always start with the cons only to explain why I give the rating I give and what it is lacking. I don’t understand why the burger always comes soggy/wet, it happened my first time and I took it back but came back the same so it must be their special thing which is strange ruining a good burger. Very generous portion for burger, don’t pay extra for what you want in it if you like a lot of ingredients but it is on the pricier end for a burger. Huge portion of chips, a large chips and half the burger could easily feed an average person with even left over chips. Free refill on drinks and no fee for sauce on chips which is cool.

I got the bacon cheeseburger and regular cajun fries, personally I found it was very filling, very large serving sizes. The burger tasted really nice and so were the chips, I definitely recommend coming here for a quick food break, the service was really good when I went, and the server was very welcoming. I’m not the biggest fan of American diner aesthetics, but it was done really well regardless. Definitely will be coming back

A solid burger (to me it’s like a higher quality, fresher, version of Hungry Jacks). Serving size is solid, regular fries are probably enough for two people. The service was quick and pretty good for fast food.

This place gets busy and sometimes the wait times can be a bit excessive. The burgers are pricey but with heaps of topping and variations it’s somewhat unique. If you like big juicy burgers then 5 guys is a must try.
