Farmgate Restaurant has grown from a passion for good, honest food – produce and flavours – and true hospitality. Opened in December 2022, it is a full service, Modern Australian casual restaurant with a welcoming and stylish setting in Nowra’s CBD. Outside dining on the balcony overlooks the Harry Sawkins Park. Only a couple of hundred meters from the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre, it is a great location to have a meal or just a drink before a show. Fully licenced with local wines, beers and spirits – come taste the Shoalhaven for yourself!

This place has a very homely feel. Great sturdy chairs for us larger sizes. This is now an important point for us. The service was spot on. Food was generally good. The only thing that did annoy us was the noise level. We could not talk to each other very well, so left after eating. It was extremely noisy. We will try again on another day and check the noise level.

Very glad I found this lovely restaurant during my stay in Nowra. The prawn and scallop ravioli was my favourite dish, with the rump steak being a close second. The owners were lovely. The only gripe I have was that the restaurant itself was stuffy and very warm – more ventilation is needed.

We had a great experience at the Farmgate right from the booking process through to the food and service. We were a large group and they accommodated us perfectly. A good menu for all ages and lots of specials to keep everyone happy plus some variety on the drinks menu with some great craft ales and nice cocktails. A really nice vibe and slightly out of the way so a bit more chilled than other more central venues. We will definitely return on our next trip to Nowra.
