Ekiben is one our fav Japanese in Perth, Japanese with a little twist. First greeted by the friendly staffs, we love to sit outdoor at a warm day. They also have a semi-private area for private function at the back. Menu is simply but giving us lots of options, many delicious entrees i.e potato salad and Corn rib are must. There are also Japanese Sandwiches, staff recommended the prawn Ebi Sando, we didn’t try it, but we will be back next time. We also ordered the Sashimi platter, it’s so delicious, so fresh. Epeciallu the salmon belly and the prawn! Highly recommended.

This is a hidden gem, you wouldn’t know it was a Japanese restaurant/Cafe looking in. But when the food came out, it was great. Delicious, modern and a good portion. We had the Unagi (eel) donburi and the Miso Butter Salmon donburi. Both cooked very well. The Unagi was not overcooked, had plenty of sauce and was very tasty. The salmon was also cooked to perfection, just the right pink inside and when the butter Miso was spread around the fish and the rice, the saltiness was just right. The service was good, happy and not intrusive. Thank you for the good food and good atmosphere. Maybe next to your coffee sign at the front bar, put some of your Japanese recommendations on a little sign as well because I was sitting next to the door and people walked in then out because they thought (loudly) that it was a mere coffee shop.

Excellent food with sincere service. The toast is well-grilled with butter and the salad with sesame sauce is very nice too. The Unagi is outstanding and the soup is superb delicious. Highly recommend.

Venue is lovely, staff were a bit serious but professional enough. Food is presented well but flavour is average. Found it to be quite expensive.

Food were okay. Salmon came cold, butter didn’t melt. Service wasn’t great. The girl who took my order made a mistake but wont admit it and was a bit rude. Didn’t want to make it a long drama, I asked for side meat for my in-law, which I’ll pay for. Instead of giving me the side meat, she gave me a full bento set, which is more expensive. Its okay if you made a mistake, but treating your customers like that is a big no. Please clean your toilet more often too, thank you.

I don’t know where to start.. they sent the wrong dish for me, but I didn’t send back or complain. We order a seasonal salad literally it seemed like a bag of mix leaves and some fish flakes on top… to be honest not a huge fan of fish flakes.. I couldn’t taste anything besides of flakes even eating my chicken that was supposed to be the karaage but they sent a blend grilled chicken.

Cute restaurant on the strip in North Perth, service is friendly. On the expensive side for meal size and overall food experience. Probably won’t go again. Miso salmon with butter came out cold so the butter didn’t melt.
