had the opportunity to stop by this place for a meal after visiting the hot springs. The ambiance was fantastic and reminded me of a Tex-Mex restaurant straight out of Texas. The food was decent, and I ordered the New York strip steak and the ribs. The steak was delicious, cooked to perfection, but the ribs were just okay. However, I was a bit surprised when our table didn’t have any forks, and we had to resort to eating cowboy style with our hands until I noticed the next table had utensils. It made me feel a bit like I was in the Wild West. Nonetheless, despite this small inconvenience, the overall experience was enjoyable and worthy of a four-star rating

The fact that we were a few drinks deep and craving something to eat wasn’t enough to mitigate the disappointment that was Deadwood. We were off to a rough start almost as soon as we sat down. We ordered three Sierra Nevada pale ales. They only had one left. Not the end of the world but not ideal either, especially when one of the house “rules” at Deadwood is that “the bartender is always right”. Thankfully, there were plenty of other beers on offer that tickled our fancy. Next, the buffalo chicken wings were so small that you’d think they’d caught and butchered a few pigeons and the blue cheese sauce was distinctly lacking in blue cheese flavour. All good though, perhaps the tacos will save the day? Wrong. While the beef tacos were decent, the fish tacos were awful. The presentation said Mexicali, but the crunch and taste said off-brand fish fingers. It took more than a couple of swigs of my drink to wash the taste away. Unfortunately, our woes did not end there. The Texan beef chilli was watery and flavourless. The vegan sliders weren’t much larger than golf balls and looked as boring as I imagine they tasted (despite costing $17). And while the staff were admittedly friendly and attentive, they got our food order wrong even though we only ordered what I’ve described above. All of this being said, I’m hoping that Deadwood can come good if and when I visit again. I like the venue itself and they have enough glowing reviews that they must be doing something right. It just wasn’t the case for us. Not by a long shot.

WOW…. The food here is incredible… Massive selection of drinks including Whiskey flights, cocktails and spirits. Great friendly staff and just a great southern charm. Loved it and will definitely be back.

Lived in Houston Texas for many years and have to give their ribs 8 stars. Could use a bit of Tabasco Sauce to give it a bit of bite. Maybe they could offer a side sauce of mild or hot spiced with Tabasco.

What a place. The atmosphere is great, the original jukebox shipped from the states full of quality music is fantastic. They have spared no expense on the fit out which has a cosy, southern, saloon bar feel with views of the bay. The menu is about quality over quantity, which may not be traditionally American, but suites me just fine. And the two legends that own the place are complete gentleman down for a chat and topped off the vibe perfectly.
