W O W!… do not be fooled by the name, this is neither ‘cash only’ nor a ‘diner’ …. and the food is the star, matched by a casual dining atmosphere and great friendly service. Bryce gave us a fantastic run down on the menu and how the place came to be and expectations were raised…. And the amazing kitchen did not disappoint! Big distinct flavors, perfectly cooked proteins in all of the 10 dishes… and enjoyed every one. Just go!

Popped in for a Friday lunch and it was pretty quiet. We weren’t very hungry so decided to share a few entrees: spring rolls, VN pate, beef wrapped in betel leaf and pickles. Everything was tasty and the plates were left clean. Prices are on the high side (about 30pp without drinks) but not unexpected given it’s in the middle of the CBD. Too bad the banh-wiches are strictly takeaway, would’ve loved to try it as well. Guess I’ll have to return to try it!

Came across this place while looking for some lunch. Was quite excited to try based off the amazing reviews. Unfortunately, a staff member looked to be having an off day and service was a bit lacking. Intro was lukewarm, was not guided to our seats at the back of the restaurant and no menus were given to us but to other tables that arrived after us. Tried to make eye contact with a staff member who seemed to be busy with other tasks, caught her eye but she then looked away immediately. Once we placed our order, the food arrived quickly and was excellent. Can recommend the pork belly skewers and the fried rice. The Viet iced coffee on the other hand was more ice than drink, would not recommend. Price was a little high but I think the food was high quality and venue was great.

What a great meal! Incredibly friendly service from Rob and the whole team. Every course was truly amazing and the pandan waffle for dessert was a great way to finish. There were three of us and we shared three entrees and then three main courses and it was exactly the right amount of food for us.

Cash Only is the best Vietnamese restaurant in Sydney. Food is delicious and authentic. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Bobby Nguyen (chef) and his team are truly gifted chefs. Almost every dish in their menu is outstanding. I have been coming to this restaurant regularly and have enjoyed all my meals.
