Picture a charming restaurant right by a pretty lake. Inside, it feels all warm and comfortable with wooden decorations and soft lights. You can see the lake through big windows, and there are cool black swans walking around on the land and cute ducks swimming on the lake. It’s a peaceful and lovely place to have a cozy meal and enjoy the beautiful views. Their beef is really good in medium rare.

Was driving from Adelaide to Geelong and wanted to also stop by Ballarat to have a quick look. What better than to stop by a restaurant right on Lake Wendouree? I was toying with my chances when I visited for dinner as I had no idea what time I’d arrive if I were to make a reservation. Thankfully, the restaurant was relatively empty and we got seated rather quickly.

We are regulars at the boatshed each week. We also have service dogs and service puppies in training and we are incredibly proud to say, our pups are readily accepted. There is never an issue and if we need different dietary requirements, staff are within reason, happy to oblige. Get yourself along to try their new improved menu and experience WENDOUREE Lake in all its glory.

First timer here. Beautiful views. The service and food were both great and very fast. Even though the restaurant was full it wasn’t loud and our meal was so relaxing and enjoyable.

BEAUTIFUL place, right on the water and tastefully decorated inside. Food is good. My aunt and I really enjoyed our lunch at this place, our waitress was lovely. the only negative is that the service is a bit slow and for long stretches of time she was not in sight for us to wave and get her to come to us.

Love the boat shed. Great food and warn atmosphere for a cold winter’s night. Lounges at tables are a but too hard to manage when sitting to eat comfortably. A bit slow on the service with drinks (were a bit busy when we went so no biggie), but waiters were lovely and hospitable. Food was great tasting and portion for price, would recommend!
