We ordered Szechuan chicken and Szechuan king prawn, they are all 2 chilli level, however prawns are spicier than chicken, and more delicious. Chicken is not spicy as 2 chilli level, my 9 yo son can eat it. If you like spicy food but can’t tolerate too hot taste, can try the chicken. Stir fried mixed vegetables with tofu is nice, with very fresh and mild taste. Black bean beef is just ok, the sauce is nice, however some of the beef hardly to chew…

Best Chinese we’ve had in years. Ordered home delivery on a busy Friday night and the food arrived hot & crispy and the flavours were on point. We had a mixed entree, honey king prawns, sweet & sour pork and the combination omelette. Glad we ordered the extra special fried rice for leftovers! Will definitely order from here again

Dropped in on a busy Saturday night at 6:40pm just by chance hoping we could have dinner and be at a show at Thirroul by 7:30pm. The lovely lady out front was so friendly and accommodating. Sat us down, took our order and food was out in about 15min. The garlic prawns were to die for. All of our food was fresh, crisp and delicious. Short soup, special fried rice and sweet and sour braised chicken. We finished all of our food and made it to our show in perfect time. Will definitely return.

The old and wise waitress is under the impression she it’s appropriate to tell customers to stop looking at their phone. It’s absolutely not your place to give your opinion of how I should or shouldn’t sit at a table. I would suggest you pay more attention to your job performance.

I don’t know how to evaluate the true taste of the food in this restaurant, but it is highly recommended and it is impossible to describe how good it is in words. It is said that the current chefs almost work as chefs in most famous Chinese restaurants in Sydney and follow other Chinese chefs to learn cooking skills.

Blue River offers a delicious and delightful yum cha on weekends. They also serve great veggie dishes, wok fried eggplant with garlic and soy, stir fried tofu and vegetables. You should also try the wok fried fish in Chinese wine. And friendly attentive service, too.

If I could give less than 1 star for service, I honestly would! My call was answered and I was then left as an ‘on hold’ listening to a staff member chit chat about Facebook for 6 mins. This is not the first time the phone service has been appalling here – but this is the last time I will ever call Blue River. Not happy!!
