Bisou Bisou is a French Brasserie connected to Hotel X in the Valley. As part of the Ghanem Group (think Byblos, Donna Chang) I was excited about trying this restaurant while I was up in Brisbane.

Most exceptional experience at a restaurant ever! Took my teenage daughter to celebrate her birthday. The staff made it a wonderful night. Food was incredible. My daughter raved about the mocktails as much as I did the signature cocktails. Will recommend to everyone. Thank you.

The full Gaian duck was too tough and chewy ( needs improvement) . The ocean trout was good .The rest of the dishes was above average. BYO corkage was $50 per bottle.

We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant this evening. The service was good and the portions were appropriate and the taste was impressive. This is my favourite French restaurant in Brisbane.

Food was amazing, in particular the steak and frites and the creme brulee dessert. Only negative was the oyster seemed a bit small for the price per dozen, but they were tasty and fresh. My cocktails were very good too. All up a great French restaurant, lovely food, nice venue and friendly staff. Also, it is one of the very few places open for lunch on a Monday in the New Farm/Vally area.

We had an average dining experience here. It is a nice venue, although the seats along the side wall were pretty squishy to get into (barely a gap between the table and the chair arm). The service was a little slow. We had booked but our table wasn’t set for three. After we ordered our drinks there was a long wait to get them and we were after this long wait informed that one of the wines ordered wasn’t available. The entrees were very good. The mains were average. The side dish we ordered was never received. The wait time for entrees and marina was longer than expected. The dessert was tasty and quick to be served. Overall it was average for the price, given the food, service and ambience.

Wife and I were visiting family in Brisbane and after some googling, decided to give this place a try for dinner to celebrate our belated anniversary. The restaurant had a big spacious dining room but had a nice ambience, although perhaps a tad dark seated against the wall. The sofa seating was also a little too low for the tables and shorter diners would really have to ‘sit up straight’ when eating. The young waiter with a French accent who looked after us appears to know the quite extensive food and drinks menu well. Our entree of beetroot cured ocean trout served with battered caperberries was light and fresh, and the steak tartare served with potato crisps was generous and tasty. However the standout starter was the tartlet of confit duck with liver parfait and blood orange (more like mandarin) superbly accompanied by its thin and wonderfully crisp tart shell, very tasty and dish of the meal! We shared a main of half a rotisserie duck with roasted figs and onions, also very tasty. We didn’t really need the extra side of roast potatoes with a somewhat subtle comte fondue but didn’t leave any leftovers. In fact there was room to share the brie cheesecake to finish, although this was a little bland and underwhelming. Overall competent and tasty dishes but perhaps closer to average Parisian bistro standard than the high end dining suggested by the prices.
