Bowen Fishermans Seafood Company is a small family owned and operated seafood wholesale & retail business, who specialises in providing fresh local wild caught seafood & have been supplying Australia wide and exporting seafood internationally for over 35 years. Allen & Cecily Bauer took over the Queensland Fish board establishing Bowen Fishermans Seafood Company in 1982. The Bauer Family then opened Bird’s Fish Bar in 2013 offering to the public cooked to order, wild caught fish & chips unloaded from the local boats daily. You can takeaway or eat in at their outdoor eating area providing undercover seating to enjoy your fresh fish & chips while overlooking Bowens beautiful marina & watching the boat unload last nights catch.

This is absolutely one of my favourite fish and chips in Bowen ! As you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff and into a very clean space. Walking out onto the back deck there is plenty of seating, shade, the decor is very nice and you can see a lot of effort has been put into this place. Lovely view of the harbour and the tables are clean with plenty of bins around if needed. There is a playground for kids so this place is definitely children friendly. The team member at the counter was very friendly and he was knowledgeable of the menu and current fish available. We ordered 3x meals and they were very quick to come out, the chips were delicious and so was the fish. Definitely value for money! I can’t wait to dine here again, lovely experience!

Great fish and chips, splurged and got the breaded coral trout, was a large piece and was well worth it. Chips were fresh and crispy. Was a nice change from the typical breading. Only complaint is tartar sauce was $3.50, seemed a bit steep for a condiment. Service friendly and quick☺️ also really nice area to eat next to water out back next to marina. Was in the area (road trip from Cairns to Sydney) and came here for a late lunch / early dinner. Ordered fish and chips, some calamari and a bug tail. All delicious! Would have been great if the bug tail was less battered as lost the taste of the tail a bit. When we went we were the only ones there so service was fast. Great little place – has a nice outdoor seating area out the back with water views. Food was good and tasty – probably no standouts though.

Great fresh seafood for Bowen. This place gets busy around lunchtime. You can eat your cooked seafood on the back deck. There is room for approximately 50 people. They have a few people cooking so the wait time is not too long. There is plenty of parking out the front and you can even fit your caravan.

Freshly caught fish and a wide range of options for different fish. The chips aren’t the best but the fish definitely makes up for it. Very cool place to eat out the back, overlooking the water. Staff are nice and friendly.

Service was poor. Looked like young staff did not want to be there. Our food was cooked and sat in basket for over 20 minutes. Young girl wrapping up orders was very slow and spent more time watching customers than wrapping. Sea scollops were cold in the middle. Would not recommend this place
