Located on a green entrenched rooftop in Sydney is Babylon Rooftop, a sprawling restaurant and bar reminiscent of the ancient region of Levant. Babylon has been built upon the greatest expression of Middle Eastern hospitality, food. Our kitchen is led by Arman Uz who has created a menu rich with dishes inspired by childhood memories growing up in Turkey and traditional Levantine food.

Babylon offers a great and fresh variety of elevated Middle Eastern dishes that left us wanting more. We ordered 2 mains and 2 appetizers and had plenty to eat. The portions are bigger then tapas and can be shared. We had the halloumi starter, grilled octopus, cauliflower side and lamb kebab. We finished with desserts including baklavah, and sorbets. The service was excellent and our waitress explained the different dishes well and made great suggestions. The dishes were very flavorful and the presentation exquisite. The ambience is casual but elevated with modern settings that still feel warm and intimate. Perfect place for a business lunch or a catch up. We are inside vs on the rooftop. The restaurant is nestled inside a mall but in a quiet section away from the stores. Loved lunch here!

I ate in the restaurant last night with two friends and was simply blown away by how beautiful, fresh and amazingly tasty all the food was. I’ve never tasted such succulent chicken in my life and the Turkish bread with smoked butter was just divine. Every dish we ordered was so beautiful including the lamb skewers and the pilaf. It was all faultless. The service was also good and I appreciated the water glasses being topped up frequently throughout the meal. Highly, highly recommend for a beautiful dinner experience! Just. YUM!!!!

Have eaten here twice now – a nice option to break up the shopping humdrum. Lovely outdoor area, as well as spacious indoor seating. It’s a little on the pricey side but the serves are big & the quality is good. We couldn’t quite finish everything – the best were the prawns & the the Lamb Gozleme. Lamb Kofta was good too. Haloumi was tasty but the taste of the cheese was drowned by the taste of the tidewater, & I feel the quality of the Haloumi could have been better.

It is a nice and decent place but low in service, no one wiped our table when we first arrived. i have high expectations when first come here but didn’t expect the service gonna be that low (?maybe understaffed?). But the rest is good. So maybe 3 star is the rate for me, but for the quality of services probably 2(?)

There’s a big hype for this place and I’m not sure why, the meat was so chewy, all the dishes came out seperatly and long waiting times in between. The tabouleh is a disgrace so dry and flavourless. The kefta is one piece cut up into 4. Not somewhere I would be dying to go back to.

With higher prices and its status as a rooftop bar, Babylon caters more for the corporate crowd. On the one hand, the drinks were great and the vibes were unmatched if you like seeing everyone getting loose after a long day of work. On the other hand, wait times were long, serving sizes were small (especially relative to price), and food was mediocre.
