We’ve been to Aroma of India in Sturt Street a number of times recently. Recommend eating in. We like the Eggplant Masala, Biryani and Palak Paneer and the Naan has always been soft, fresh and tasty. Dishes have been consistently good, flavours are balanced and delicious. The butter chicken is pretty good too!

This place used to be really good for vegetarian food. And I don’t know why since the last 3 times, I’ve had bad experiences with vegetarian food. I ordered Paneer Butter Masala and it wasn’t great. The gravy was watery and the capsicum was half cooked. This was the second time that I was sick the day after.

I order very often before, but these 2weeks the meats are terrible! Chicken tikka are small. Diced lamb are tough with smell! Diced beef is hard to eat as well. I don’t know what meat are you using now. It is totally different compared to before.

Amazing food, we had a mixed entre and 2 main dishes with rice and naan bread, it was beautiful and way to much food! I tried the lissi drink which was interesting and I appreciated that the owner explained the purpose of the drink. Great food and great prices. Thanks.

The best Indian food in Ballarat by far. Everything was freshly made with care and was very flavourful. If you don’t like it too spicy stick to the mild option. Spicy is spicy! Excellent table service, very patient with our large group and big order. Disability friendly and accessible. We will be going back for the food and the quality service.

Absolutely rubbish , oily bhatura , which looks like fried quickly and uncooked inside. 2 months before frozen KULCHA as water drentched, and soggy when served with lots of butter to hide it.

without exception, the only place in Ballarat where ai order my indian food!! I will be honest…I am a harsh critic and it is not uncommon for me to send back food that is below average…I have been known to demand a refund on many an occasion BUT I also give credit where credit is due. Just tonight, I ordered Uber eats from Aroma (it is my only stored order on the app lol). We are always happy with our yummy dishes but every now and then the food is even better than usual. lucky for us, tonight was another of those nights. So much so that I took the time to call in compliments to the chef (it is just as fair to acknowledge amazing food as it is to complain about bad food). Once again guys. Hats off to the chef. It was absolutely perfect tonight. yum bloody yum!!

The decor is a little plain and the waiter (assumedly the owner) appears slightly rushed but don’t let these dissuade you from a great little Indian restaurant. I opted for the onion bhaji to start, followed by the chicken tikka masala accompanied by garlic naan, and mango lassi to drink. The entree came out reasonably quick, though oddly I did not receive my lassi (despite a tray of them facing me in the fridge) until my main had arrived. The bhaji was a tiny bit overcooked but not burnt and was enjoyable. 5 pieces were more than I was expecting and I’d suggest this as a shared entree rather than for one. The Tikka was fantastic, spiced well, the chicken juicy and the naan hot and fresh, with delightful little chunks of garlic among the lavish spread of butter. Would certainly be heading back!
