I believe these poor people don’t like their job. 50min wait for a chicken, soggy chips. Rude short staff in pharmacy t-shirts. Dirty floor and oily counter bench. Counting their cash in front of us. Then keep cooking. Very unhygienic. My refund request caused conflict, but I got it and left the food there.

Don’t waste your time or your money. Waited over an hour and a half for chips and sandwiches. Had 2 little kids with us. They didn’t even have the courtesy to let us know there was a wait. After an hour we inquired about our order to be told they didn’t know what we want on our toasties (we had told them but they didn’t write it down). So they didn’t bother asking the just ignored it. 5 people who ordered after got their food before us. Including a woman who had to wait 50mins for a serve of chips. Food is terrible. Toasties we’re soggy. When I requested that in future they let people know if there is a long wait time they turned it on me and said it was my fault for not asking. Yelled at me and told me to get out. 1 star is more then they deserve

Today we decide to get some takeaway from the Yamba chick-in. I grew up going here, getting ice creams and food whilst on family holidays. Today I have never been so disappointed and disrespected in my life. I understand at times this place may be understaffed but the way you treat customers is disgraceful. We ordered our food via phone call, the first time we got hung up on. Finally the second time we got all the through the order and had to call back to get a waiting time and got told it will be a 15 minute wait. Naturally like anyone ordering we made our way down there to pay, as we paid we got told that it would be another 10 minutes which we thought was reasonable. What we didn’t think was reasonable was the fact we waited 50minutes for our food, this time is now totalled to 1 hour and 15 minutes. I asked the young girls behind the counter a simple question “is it better to come down, order and pay.. as it has been 1 hour and 15 minutes since I placed my phone order, do you guys only start cooking when we pay?” The young girl ask the cooked for an answer, as a response I got verbally abused because I was asking a simply question that he could not answer. As you could understand I have gone to this place many times and would of liked a simple answer as I was giving them the benefit of the doubt and continued to get abused saying that “I get no special treatment because I ordered on the phone”. If the shop was flat out I would of understood but it wasn’t. We received the food shortly after much to my surprise. Much to my disgust again, however, this food I waited so long food was undercooked and stale. I will never step foot in that shop again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

what an absolute joke. ordered chips and 1 burger, it took 40 minutes and they didn’t give me any indication of the wait nor was the store busy. I approached the chef about how his staff didn’t inform me of the phenomenal wait, to which he said “the cashier doesn’t know what’s happening in the kitchen” and “i have 1 grill back here”. Firstly, it would be so easy to communicate between kitchen/ waitress as there’s a WINDOW connecting them… he could literally just say “let customers know there’s a 30min+ wait” and she would of heard him… other businesses do this as common courtesy. Secondly there’s so many reviews similar here the owner obviously doesn’t care, get a new bloody grill and hire another kitchen hand for christ sake. Would never go here again! Worst costumer service and very average food! We ordered here and were told there was a half an hour wait. 50mins later and no one else in the cafe and still no food when our food finally did arrive the food they gave us was out of the hot box, we ordered a chicken burger got a beef burger all the food was below average and to top it off none of the staff or chef wears gloves while preparing food, it turned me off my food so much I didn’t even eat mine! I’m surprised they haven’t been reported already! Highly unhigenic to watch them handle food in this way. And not to mention the fact they handle all kinds of meat! The girl at the front counter was super rude to every single person that entered the cafe yelling across the counters and just has the absolute worst costumer service I’ve ever experienced! I would never return and I’d recommend everyone do the same! Such as shame as supporting small businesses is something I like to do when visiting new places but this one will be one I will never return to!

This place was so disappointing. The shop was practically empty when we ordered our family box of chips. We were told it would be a short wait… 45 minutes later we got the box of chips. When we opened it up, the box wasn’t even full and the chips were so soggy. All of the staff had their hair down whilst handling food, so I don’t know I was so surprised when I found a hair in the box of chips. Would never go back to this place and I definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Got a schnitzel and chips and for $7 it’s a generous serve, great value for money. I visit often as I have family in the area I’ve found it to always have good chicken and chips you just have to make sure you aren’t too late there in winter as it might be closed.

Great service and food. Despite people’s complaints we waited a really normal amount of time for our food (it had to be cooked after all), the quality was great and the staff are always really courteous. Would recommend the steak sandwiches highly!

Not very happy with this place. Most times I go there they have run out of fried chicken by just after 1 or 2 pm. The chicken tastes nice but poor service and one would think with the name Chick inn they could at least have enough chicken in stock. Running out is a regular thing and I try not to go there much anymore. Chicken does taste ok if your lucky to get some.

Got told half an hour before I even ordered, ended up being over an hour for 2 scoops of chips that were undercooked. Rubbish food, rubbish customer service and run by 12 year olds who think unhappy customers are funny. DO. NOT. GO. THERE!!!
