Under a bright blue sky the recycled timber of Wharf One Café is a beacon for lovers of good coffee and simple dishes with a twist. Under the direction of ex-Melbournian restaurateur, Will Nevile and co-owner Caroline Tippett, the café works closely with local growers, farmers, fisherman and foragers to source fresh, seasonal produce to create simple, genuine dishes with flair and flavour. On the menu, the classic Eggs Benedict has been given a distinctly North Queensland twist, with salmon cured in local sugarcane. Situated on the historic Cairns wharf, the trendy café is a popular destination for early morning joggers or those looking to take a leisurely stroll from the southern end of the Esplanade along the Trinity Inlet.

I’ve been coming to this Cafe for years before I was a dog owner. I’ve had Meatball for about 2 ½yrs now, and the staff knew his name before they learned mine. It is advertised as dog friendly. There’s a sign outside saying dogs are welcome. People come to Wharf One because, alongside awesome food, friendly service, a crazy good location, their pup is welcome. The staff do pat dogs, then they go and wash or sanitise their hands. It’s a rule that’s ingrained in every hospitality worker the world over. If you’re not a dog lover, Kristyne Love, maybe do your homework before you go out. FYI, I noticed that you only give one star reviews, so here’s a one star review for you.

We had breakfast and coffee while in Cains, we have orderd a healthy bowl which includes poached egg, avo, spinach, sweet potato chips and green leaf, it was not the best and not that special but good as the healthiest option. The coffee was good though and the service was great.
