Pretty decent Malaysian food in the middle of the mountains. Assam laksa – flavours were there, level of spice is on par with what you get in Malaysia. Only complain is that it’s a tad too sour for me. CKT – pretty alright, noodles a little thick but still pretty decent outside of malaysia

My friend recommended this restaurant a few times as I love eating Assam Laksa.

Unique indeed. Patisserie meets Malaysian cuisine. So expect to smell delicious savoury scents whilst sipping tea or having your mid morning coffee and cake.

This place is least known among the tourists but offers the best Malaysian home made food one can ever find. Their laksa and Nasi lemak are impeccably tasty. Don’t miss this gem while in the mountains.

It certainly is unique! Fried rice, noodles coupled with Éclairs, cakes and sweet sweet buns.

A hidden Malaysian gem in Katoomba. The place was packed during the weekend but service was quick. Ordered their tamarind fish-base laksa and chicken rendang nasi lemak. Both dishes were delicious and generous in portions. The serving lady is bright and chatty and super friendly. She just let us pay by card with no surcharges applied even thought at the cashier it clearly states there will be surcharges for cards payments.

This is a true family business, with mom at the helm, and husband and kids supporting. The owner is a dynamo, managing the often hectic lunch service with grace. Staffing can appear thin during rush times, but it’s a common challenge in this industry.

Unique indeed! We are not at all familiar with South East Asian food but with the help of previous reviews we choose Nasi Goreng and Char Kway Teow. They were very good with generous portions. We did make room for dessert which do have more familiarity. We had a Bee Sting followed by a Vanilla Slice. As we understood, the person responsible for all this goodness is now in his 60’s and has been practicing since his teens. They do say that practice does make perfect and everything was PERFECT including the friendly and helpful service. While we were there, there was a steady stream of regular customers that came in for their regulars.

We only went to this place to get the carrot cake. I personally have never had carrot cake before but wow it was so good!

This place deserves 6 stars if I could give it. There are probably 3-4 people working here in total, but they’re running a FULL restaurant so efficiently! Definitely a queue (be prepared to wait) during peak hours, but once you get a table the service was quick. Assam laksa and bak kut teh is what we come for, but their cakes, pies and pastries are a must as well. Clean toilet within, friendly service. Plan your trip and avoid peak times if you can. A hidden gem in Blue Mountains.
