Being greeted with a big smile from Mick was the start of an awesome dining experience. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful when it came to menu suggestions and drink pairings.

Emailed the restaurant feedback and they never acknowledged it. Unfortunately our experience was not good, in fact we were quite Ill after the meal and believe it was from the bugs, which we mentioned in our feedback to the restaurant who ghosted us!!. Duck spring rolls, no duck, squid small and thrown together, buggs served on a plate that looks like something was missing and bland and unfresh (certain it was these that made us I’ll). Okominyaki fries were cold and soggy and oversauced. We ordered other things that aren’t worth my time and energy mentioning because nothing was outstanding and overall our whole experience was dissapointing. Service was good and cocktails presented nice but with so many amazing AUTHENTIC Asian restaurants on offer on the coast we wont be back. This was not good food and the arrogance of them of not acknowledging our poor experience reflects why we will never give them another chance.

Really disappointed in the food here, I have been dying to come to Rickshaw since it opened and left with both my mum and I saying we would never return or recommend this place to anyone. Firstly, there is hardly anywhere to park, we drive around for 20 minutes and had the park in the back streets and walk about 1km to get there. The saving grace was the service, the dude was so lovely! But as for food everything was so oily and had almost no flavour. Firstly the best thing we got was the roti with curry sauce which was decent but nothing to write home about. The fried enoki mushrooms tasted burnt and they were soooo insanely oily, like I understand they are fried but the oil tastes like it was so old and the sauce was just a plain aioli. The duck spring rolls were possibly the worst thing I ever tasted, the only thing I can compare it to was a piece of crumbed chicken I got in Bali once that gave me food poisoning and the cherry sauce had absolutely no balance, it was practically just cherry jam. I will definitely tell all my friends that wanted to check this place out to steer clear! Go to Giddy Geisha down the road it’s 100x better!

Oh I really wanted this to be good… but it was very disappointing. Unfortunately there are too many excellent Asian Fusion restaurants on the Sunshine Coast and this one was just not on the radar. The food wasn’t terrible, but it were not delicious. We had 4 different dishes and all tasted of the same flavours. Presentation was a little bit off. The chicken curry was a plate full of sauce, but didn’t come with rice, which we only found out once it arrived. So we had to wait to order some rice – not a big deal but that should have been advised when we ordered. I’m not sure there was a lot, if any, duck in the spring rolls. The chicken bites were okay but the sauce is full of cucumber chunks so you can’t get any sauce. The tandoori roti’s were okay, but not enough to go back for unfortunately. I also think the 5 star reviews may be bots which is not cool.

We first attended during the opening week. We were pleasantly surprised on our return to find the food was even better and the prices slightly lower than the first visit. We had the spring rolls, popcorn chicken and the green Curry chicken which was beautifully presented. We had an attentive waitress and a lovely time.

I took my wife here for our anniversary dinner and she said she had one of the best date nights in a long time, the staff were nice and paid great attention to detail, always offering refills of wine and checking to see how we liked the food. New favourite spot for us for sure. We love the rickshaw.

Lovely ambience and an impressive cocktail bar but we go to restaurants for the food experience and The Rickshaw was very disappointing in this regard. Maybe we just picked the wrong dishes as we tried two mains to share. But you’ve got to question an Asian influenced kitchen that serves up dried out steamed rice. Belly pork serve that was hardly enough to share and five spice grilled chicken that was tasty but essentially naked without any condiments. It was also a bit irksome that three other tables that came in after us were served before us one of which was the table right next to us who had the same mains.

Both the food and drinks were sublime. I am celiac and the chef was able to make my dish GF and it tasted fantastic. Usually I get some cross contamination from other places in the past but it was nice to enjoy a meal somewhere this beautiful and not pay a poor price for it. Highly highly recommend the rickshaw!!!!

I bring alot of my clients here for work lunches and some meetings & it’s the perfect place to do it. I grab an outdoor table right on the water & the staff always know when to come over & take our orders. My clients now request for our meetings to be held there because they haven’t had such good food at a great spot anywhere else here before.

We had dinner here and service, food and flavours were exceptional. The food is so fresh and the service is so friendly and warm, with ample breaks between entree and main allowing you to enjoy your evening. The menu is explained well in regard to choosing starters and mains. We tried so many of the meals off the menu and all were a tastebud extravaganza. We will be back!
