While Tamworth is widely known as the capital of Australian country music, it’s not often celebrated for its restaurant scene. However, this venue has changed all that. Housed within one of the town’s most iconic heritage buildings is The Pig and Tinderbox. Proudly part of The Central Hospitality Group, this innovative modern restaurant tends to be packed out most nights with tropical decor and a menu that focuses on sharing. There is also an impressive drinks list with plenty of craft beers and cocktail jugs on offer. The unusual name harks back to the old-school pubs of the past, but The Pig (better known to the locals) is something that will be sticking around well into the future.

On arrival, we were impressed with the architecture inside and out. What a beautiful building. Inside, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming and made you feel at home instantaneously. Was impressed with the cocktail and wine list. Plenty to choose from. The menu was quite diverse and there is definitely enough to tease your pallet. The food was amazing. Tasty and cooked to perfection. Overall, was a really nice night. Well worth your time and money. If we are ever back in Tamworth, know where we will always go for a delicious meal and amazing staff ❤️

Came for lunch and my goodness was it unforgettable. It was absolutely delicious, we got the roast pork and skewers, a chicken taco dish, and a meatball/esque dish that was truly, just so i cant explain it just try it. I got dessert as well and it had purple yam in it and a sophisticated ice cream that was both spicy and sweet. I felt like i was at masterchef.

Food was very basic no flavour, ordered a full English without eggs and received eggs benedict. When it was brought to the attention of customer service she told me that is what I had ordered, lucky my friend was there to correct her. It took so long to get the correct meal that my friend had finished her meal so much for our Sunday breakfast together also the coffee was very bitter

We had a dinner for two on their front verandah on a Friday night which was a great setting also having outdoor heating. A variety of quality tasty options on their menu with a good selection of wines and similar on their drinks menu. Their pork belly dish was excellent. Staff were very helpful with good knowledge of the menu.
