What an incredible steak I had here. We walked up without a reservation on a Friday evening and were fortunate enough to get a table. I’m so glad we did. The staff were very well informed and helpful without being in your face. Drinks arrived promptly as did the starters. We had a bit of a wait for the steaks to arrive after the first course was completed but it wasn’t excessive and we were blown away by the quality once they did hit the table. This place puts Kyneton on the map for me and if I ever find myself within 30 mins drive I shall try and eat here again. Thanks guys, you were amazing!

I really liked the Oaks. It’s classic food, done well, and served up with warm service. It’s not super exciting, and not huge options, (particularly if you’re a vegetarian) but worth the visit if you enjoy a steak (certainly best in Kyneton). Oysters were also really fresh and lovely.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night with my girlfriend, it was cold and they didn’t have any free tables inside so they gave us one outside and although it was cold it was the most wholesome experience. The waiters fussed over us with the heater to try and keep us warm and then a few minutes after they came out with blankets again. They food was great and it ended up being such a nice night would definitely recommend and will be back in our next visit to Kyneton.

Without a doubt The Oaks is the best restaurant in Kyneton. It always has the best atmosphere, the food is delicious (the steak and chicken schnitzel are always a winner) the cocktails are incredible and the staff are always so welcoming and friendly. It’s so nice and toasty in winter with the fire going. 10/10!!

What an awesome little restaurant in a beautiful small town. The two young girls ( one was Malava P) that served us though out the night and the male manager was so friendly and understanding to all their customers needs. Being full house that night the service from the staff was very sufficient, the food was divine! We had close to everything on the menu but the fried cauliflower, calamari was outstanding from entree, also our two favourite mains was the pork cutlet that’s was super juicy and the crispy pork skins was cooked how it should be crunchy! And other outstanding was dish was the lamb cutlets that was cooked to perfection!
