The Meat & Wine Co is the best steak restaurant in Adelaide CBD. Situated on Currie Street in downtown Adelaide and an easy walk to the Railway Station and Adelaide Oval, The Meat & Wine Co Adelaide is located at the heritage-listed Elder House which was designed by Walter Hervey Bagot in 1937. It has since undergone a $30 million restoration project to bring back to life this iconic building with newly-appointed modern interiors, which provide an afro-centric ambience as well as a warm and cozy restaurant experience. With winter setting upon the beautiful city of Adelaide, divulge in our new menu featuring a selection of seasonal dishes to help warm up this cold season.

For my starter, I opted for the Boerewors Skewer – a delicious plate of six small sausages that were bursting with flavor. My Ribeye steak was cooked to perfection, just the way I requested it, and not only was it incredibly tasty, but it also looked stunning on the plate.

Only one type of Reisling to choose from which is odd for a place with wine in the name. My steak was cooked correctly but was pretty poor in taste. Also 2 minutes after the bill was left at the table they came around with the EFTPOS machine which I thought was rude. On the positive side the ribs were delicious and desserts yummy.

Came here for a birthday last night. The venue is architecturally beautiful inside with really nice lighting. The service was extremely good but the there was one waiter who may have been quite new to the job and caused abit of stress to our table by reminding us 3 times that we only had a certain amount of time remaining on our table despite there being at least 15 other free tables. Apart from that the food was delicious and the prices were quite reasonable. I’ll be happy to come back. Thanks for the food.
